We are not so much dimished by his passing as we are enriched by his life and teaching. From a soldier to a Marine, semper fi, Colonel.
R.I.P - Colonel John "Jeff" Cooper
I first read this in Coopers Corner what seems a long time ago.
Thank you Colonel , I give it back to you !
And though you be done to death , what then ?

I got introduced to Col.Cooper through his writing's in the early 70's. Based on his fondness for the Commander size 1911, stating that it was the perfect side arm, I bought a 1971 Colt Combat Commander in 1973. I still have it. The only gun that I will never part with.

While Col. Jeff Cooper the man may have passed on, his legacy will never fade. Where ever true students of combat gather, his exploits and teachings will be passed on. Like Preacherman said, Col Cooper's guidance, if even not recieved directly from him, has lead many men, including myself through dangerous times.

Often controversial, always thought provoking
I had the honor of meeting Jeff at a SHOT Show in Las Vegas in 2005. Although wheelchair bound at the time, his image stood tall. He will be missed.

My prayers are with the family of Cononel Cooper. Our world is poorer with out him in it. Heaven is now well guarded R.I.P. Sir
Since I don't have a 1911 colt I'm going to drop the .45 acp cylinder in my blackhawk and fire a volley in the Colonel's memory.

Neither of my parents shot firearms, or kept them in the house. Cooper's books taught me to shoot. I have returned the favor (I hope), by using Cooper's books to bring others into the world of firearms. He was an uncommon combination of warrior and scholar.
Somehow it feels a little colder outside.

I regret not having the opportunity to meet and learn from Col. Cooper in person. I am grateful that I was able to learn from those who have.
