Every time one of these happens I sure hope we stand up and take note. All the commercials on TV,drugs and what not are looking after the female gender just fine thankyou. Its kinda like if your fixing up two old cars. When you get one done and just a shining in the sun you start working on the other wreck. Ever notice you keep finding yourself back over at the shiny one rubbing the bumper which in no way needs it. Seems like thats what mankind as a whole has done with genders. Keep dreaming up more ways for womens health(not sayin they aint worth it) while treating men like ignored disposable lighters. Even though our lifespans are shorter just count the amount of womens health commercials over men, including heart..Its silly. So lets take a lesson from Jeff and others to look after yourselves, nobody else will. Lifes short and you wanta get the most. All the best and prayers for you Jeff

The family and I will send a knee mail to the "Big Guy" for Jeff. Hope someone posts on his progress after his surgery.

I saw on another forum that Jeff came thru his 5 bypass surgery well. Here's a quote from his wife:
------------

Good afternoon,

This is Souette...Jeff Quinn's wife.
Jeff was off the respirator and sitting in a chair 6 hours after coming out of a 5 hour surgery. Yes, 5 bypasses.

He is very much sedated with morphine but is still aware of the pain. Still hooked up to all required tubes and wires, the staff is looking at most of those being removed by this evening. He is asleep 90% of the time now.

Through slightly slurred speech, he has inquired about the well-being of his parents and family, commented on the upcoming elections and even quoted a few lines from "Gunsmoke". He even made me promise to have his brother work on GUNBLAST so when the readers clicked on "Ask Jeff", the readers wouldn't think they were being ignored.

He did inform me that he would probably have to become engaged to a couple nurses that prepped him for surgery. "They got awful close down there!" I assured him that it was o.k. Even though he stated, "They shaved me from my neck to my toes.", his signature braided beard remains intact!

Thank all of you for the generous number of prayers and supporting words. They really meant alot to Jeff in the days prior to his surgery. Phone calls came in not only in our town and state, but throughout the country. Heck, even the Mayor's office called.

Once again, the uplifting is appreciated and Jeff will return to this board when the time is right. Continue to keep him in your thoughts as the most difficult part of recovery is just about to begin.

Mrs. Jeff Quinn

Here's more good wishes on their way to the Quinn family. Heal fast, be well.

Well..sorta :). Poor guy.

Good news is, if you survive major bypass surgery and get back on your feet, odds are vastly in favor of a full recovery, even at a fairly advanced age. Jeff is younger than most who go through this and started out in decent health.
