Jessie Duff on Hannity!

Yes, this whole episode of Hannity is regarding gun control, Wayne was on first. And yes, she did say that, not sure how that happened. But regardless, I think she is a good person to have up there defending the 2A, she hammered home the point of the .223 being a small round, and the AR-15 being hated because of cosmetic features.

Yeah I think every gun guy watching Hannity just cringed a bit when she said that.

Edit: Or gun woman. Sorry...

I really wish that she would have touched on the defensive uses of the AR. She just kept saying how she uses it in competition. Most people won't care if a ban just affects rifle competitions. We need to stress that it is a good choice for home defense.

I think her role in the show was mainly geared at fence sitters. If you are a fence sitter, odds are you don't know much about firearms. It was extremely basic to try to prove a point that these "extremely high powered, blood thirsty, rabid, killing machine, assault rifles" are not at the upper end of the power scale. Ironically this very thing is one of the cons I have had with the AR15 for a while.

One thing to remember is that during a live interview people who absolutely no better can make little mistakes like that and not realize they're doing it.

I'd wager that if you recorded everything you said throughout a day and then reviewed it you'd find a lot of stuff that doesn't quite work, but we interpret it fine in conversation. Notice how many times when a spoken interview is typed out some editor has to put in filler with block quotes so that a sentence makes sense.

Overall, I think she's a good face to have on this issue. She's pretty, attractive, and doesn't come off as an extremist (Alex Jones anyone?).

I get it, but "Fence sitters watching Hannity on Fox News Channel" just sounds wholly antithetical.

I agree with the home defense application. If I had a shotgun, it would be my second choice (AR15) for home defense behind the shotgun, except for multiple armed intruders.

Then, my wife would "man" the shotgun, and I, the other. I don't know why it isn't touted for home defense more. It's nearly perfect.

I almost had a multiple intruder home invasion one day, that was thwarted by my wife. Won't go into specifics, but she did the right thing, by some quick verbal (and nasty) commands at the front door, before I was in range. Needless to say, it was scary, and it won't catch me off guard again, without necessary arms. I did have my sidearm on, but I knew it would be inadequate for this attempt. Everything is now accessible quickly, and we both talk to people through, and beside the closed door behind cover, until determined friend or foe. I don't know how I could have lived with myself if my wife was murdered, and I couldn't prevent it.

Plan of actions now in place. They should have been all along, but you never think something like this could happen to you. No more denial.

David E - I was wondering the same!! I don't really know her, but she definitely is attractive, smart, well-spoken. My fiancee didn't say anything, but I saw her paying attention to that segment and I'm fairly sure a lot of people out there who don't understand firearms got a lot of knowledge.

At one point I wondered to myself if she was making a case for politicians to start adding more guns that aren't so evil and black to their lists though...I cringe every time I catch myself telling an Anti about how a traditional deer round can penetrate through a house worth of drywall and shotgun is possibly the most devastating firepower available. I wait for them to turn around and tell me they want those banned too.

She didn't miss. She hit the bottom of the 9mm placard.

Yeah, it was just barely noticeable but I'm pretty sure she put it right at the very edge of the card.

I was a little shocked that she, as a representative for Taurus International, and being Taurus Team Captain, didnt shoot a single Taurus product...? Hmmm

That may have been perceived as a conflict of interests. If she would have been showing Taurus products then anti's could claim that she was more interested in ramping up sales than informing the public.

But regardless, I think she is a good person to have up there defending the 2A,

We need more women speaking for us, period, because it plays to the biases of the public.

Yes, and even though the truth is that the .223/5.56mm actually does a lot more damage than a typical pistol round does due to its velocity, all the public cares about is the tiny size of the hole.

They may not have been watching live, but these types of videos do make the rounds to lots of other places via youtube.
