Regarding load data, there is sometimes a difference between the charges for jacketed hollow points compared to jacketed soft points. This can probably be negligible for medium loads, but what is your advice regarding hotter rounds? Does the presence of a cavity (or lack of one) affect chamber pressure or is it just an accuracy thing?

Example: I load 21.0gr of 2400 for my 240gr JSP's. Can I load the same charge for my JHP's without concern of picking hardened steel out of my arms and torso?

The difference the hollow cavity makes is in bullet length. A 240gr JSP will be shorter than a 240gr JHP. That means with the same OAL the JHP will be seated deeper and probably requires less powder for the same pressure.

So, without looking up load data I have to say no. My recommendation is to pick an appropriate starting load for the JHP bullet and work your way up from there.
