If this show turns out anything like the fake interviews that they have on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, she'll probably be suprised at what editing will do. On these interviews you can tell some of the questions asked would have definitely been laughed at by the interviewee, but a little cleaver editing to a previous serious shot can take care of that.
 
I doubt you'll ever see her laugh on the finished product. It wouldn't be funny if it looks like she was in on the joke.
 
Just sent an e-mail warning to T.J. Johnston, David Codrea, Randall Herrst, and a couple of other activists in the L.A. area.
 
What I can't believe is that WE have guns and they treat us this way, and they are unarmed.. :rolleyes:

Jim, what you showed was that armed men have more restraint than unarmed ones. Kudos.

Now I think I'd better hit the range, and fire off a whole bunch of ammo at poor defenseless targets. I'll still be bloody angry about this whole deceitful thing, but maybe I'll be calmer.

If Jim's lawyer is as certain as it sounds he is, maybe the most practical thing would be to set back, hold our tongues, and wait for them to air it so Jim can run his concerns on the parent company's money for a while.

Then again, that would be a mild annoyance to the parent company. If legal problems keep the piece from being useable, does the production company ever get paid for it? A hit directly to the production company's wallet might be more effective at keeping this kind of thing from being done as often / at all.

Hi!

I am a producer for a new tv talk show called "The Debate Show". We are doing a show on fat acceptance and looking for a guest on the West Coast that can passionately defend the rights and dignity of fat people.

Do you have any thoughts on people that might be in the Los Angeles region? Would you be interested?

Sorry I haven't come back here, I expected people to send back to my email. I apologize for starting a conversation and then wandering off!

The Debate Show is a new nationwide tv talk show for Viacom. We feature real people debating real issues, not politicians or lobbyists. One issue we are doing is on weight and health. This is not a Jerry Springer Type Show and every guest is treated with respect.

We are looking for a committed, passionate guest who can speak on the issue. The debate will be over such things as the link or non-link between obesity and health, whether anyone can lose weight if they want, etc.

Also, his IP was logged, but you have to be a member to see it. The reason I bring this up, is to suggest that you get that IP and do a Google of it and similar IP's. If you can show a pattern of lies by the employees, that should benefit your suit.

Tried to post to the threads but they have a waiting period -- where have I heard that before?:rolleyes:

I wrote a note to the moderators that this is a fraud. Referenced this thread as an example of how they can expect to be treated if they go there.
 
The waiting period was not very long. Was able to get on the boards and post the following:
This show will be produced by MTV for Comedy Central and will be called "Crossballs" a takeoff on "Crossfire"; but "Crossballs" will be as much like "Crossfire" as "Spaceballs" was to "Star Wars".

They have a panel of comedians that ridicule the guests. Yes, it is not a "Springer" type show but if you go there you will not be treated with respect.

As Barry can confirm, I was recently a "guest" at a televised "debate" that turned out to be a brutal mixture of "Jerry Springer" and Monte Python. I was never told this was actually a parody of the "talk show" format for the Comedy Central channel. Basically, they mix real political activists with paid actors acting as lunatics without warning the activists ahead of time.

The results were absolutely pornographic, vile, hateful and racist. I'm about ready to sue them to block them from using my name, face or voice.

Part of the parody was to have a madwoman on set representing a fictional organization called "Women and Guns". I didn't see the portion where she was the most active but from what I saw of her screaching behavior and dress, you do NOT want this crazy chick as "your spokeswoman".

Lisa Sarrach of "Hollywood Heros" (http://www.hollywood-hero.us) was going to be on this show for a segment on "obscenity in Hollywood" - she's been thoroughly warned off by myself and is about to do a press release instead. SAS should network with her ASAP - her home # is xxx-xxx-xxxx / cell xxx-xxx-xxxx. I'm also CCing her on this (her phone contacts aren't for further distribution of course, only within SAS as I discussed with her). She's doing a press release on this show's disgusting behavior.

Some of the producers from this madness called me this morning and reminded me that the "release" I signed included a confidentiality clause. I replied that since the "release" (contract) was obtained under false pretenses, it wasn't worth a bucket of warm spit and they could "bite me" if they thought I'd honor any part of it.
 
Free speech is fine, but not at the specific and deliberate expense of another.

These clowns need to be shut down.
