Message from Jim Scoutten:

Shooting USA debuts tomorrow night at 8:30PM Eastern Time (5:30 PST) and re-plays at 11:30PM (8:30PM PST).
We're leading off with Championship Series coverage of the S&W IDPA Winter Championship.

There's detailed information on the show posted on the website at
www.shootingusa.com/TV_SCHEDULE/SHOW_24-01/show_24-01.html .

I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to getting the new
shows on the air with OLN. I hope you'll be available to tune in and see what we've got for you as we start off the season. Then be sure to let me know what you think, good, bad or whatever. You've got my e-mail:
[email protected]

Best regards,

Jim

This is depressing . . . my cable supplier, Time/Warner :)barf: ) doesn't carry OLN on their basic service, I'd have to upgrade to digital cable. $$$ And I'd have to "rent" several cable boxes to take care of multiple TVs and VCRs. More $$$

THEN, after upgrading to digital, I'd have to get their "sports pack," paying for things like Bolivian soccer, in order to get OLN. Still MORE $$$$.

So . . . no Shooting USA for me. :cuss: :fire:

Aww c'mon Hank, if you get digital cable, you can upgrade to their Tivo-like box for only an extra $9/mo - well worth it!

Hankb,

I believe OLN is on the basic package with DishNetwork satelite. The Outdoor Channel is and extra that you have to pay for. Just dump the cable and get a dish. May be cheaper/better than you cable.

Just finished the new show.
Sure am happy to see another great gun show!

Looking forward to more.

Regards

Very enjoyable - problem was the seconf AS was a mishmash rerun of stuff from a hour earlier! Shooting USA was very good, hope to see more!

I caught the last half. Then I set up the Tivo for all new episodes. It does look like a pretty good show. Very much like American Shooter.

I misseed the first show, but caught the second one. I wish I had Tivo then I wouldn't miss any of these shows.

Some good, some tiresome. This show can be interesting, or it can evolve into a series of S&W infomercials.

If it's just about shooting pistols, It'll quickly fall off my TIVO's radar.

Regards.

I didn't really see it as an S&W infomercial at all, it's focus was the IDPA winter indoor shoot at S&W's facility in Springfield, MA, and I'll assume that's why there was a lot of focus on S&W.
They did show many of the competitors shooting Glocks, Berettas, and other maker's 1911's.
I think it was a good plug for IDPA, I know it's got me looking into it since I could compete with my stock wheel guns.

Over all I thought it was a very good show, and it sure beats seeing those tired old re-runs of American Shooter....(like the episodes before & after Shooting USA)

pretty good show. IMHO, i like am. rifleman better myself.

i did find it very funny that they always show the S&W 1911 on the side w/out the ugly black lettering.

I guess I might be in the minority but I enjoyed it. I hadn't seen much on the SW1911 before either, and it looks like a pretty nice gun.

Unfortunately it looks like there aren't any IDPA clubs within a 3 hour drive of me. :cuss:

HankB:

are you in Austin?

I have no idea what time warner is doing in Austin.

I went to UT and i really missed watching old reruns of American Shooter. Here's the crazy thing.

the basic time warner cable package in Houston carries OLN!!!

I really gotta wonder who made the decision to drop OLN in austin but keep it in houston. makes no sense.

:scrutiny:
