John Kerry -- Hunter?

The criticisms are absolutely valid. Personally, I didn't think he was at the moment of firing, but merely raising the shotgun... in ANY case his left hand's grip is totally TOTALLY and forever assinine...

Now here's the funniest part. I would have said that no hunting was actually going on here -- just a photo shoot -- but take a closer look at the still picture from the firefighters' site. Doesn't that look like a dog behind Kerry, pointing in the opposite direction from where he's poised to shoot? Come to think of it, maybe this scene is deeply symbolic. Kerry is being provided with information (in the form of the point) on the location of sought after targets from a highly trained professional field operative (the dog), and he turns his back and looks resolutely in the wrong direction, under the watchful eye of his advisers off to the left. Think what Michael Moore could do with this if only Kerry were a Republican!

:D

Maybe the "crook of the arm" hold with the fancy over/under is the Billionaire equivalent of the gangsta' sideways pistol style.

Kerry ain't no friend of hunters, or other Americans.

[Sarcasm] Actually, he could be about to point-shoot the Abominable No-man (8' tall, 500 lbs) that he ran into while bear hunting with slugs in his skeet gun. As for the dog, he'd be the one with common sense in that situation.[/Sarcasm]

I am not a (current) hunter, either, but the critique in the link is absolutely spot--on. and, where's our side's Michael Moore when we really need him?

I REALLY hate to defend Kerry in any way, but the comment about the right thumb may not be valid. He could be switching the barrel selector over, and his stance could still be mid-mount/swing.

That said, I don't think so. The left hand grip is wrong for such a shotgun, and there is the dog in a stalk or point in the other direction....

It looks like he is trying to bring the gun up to his shoulder and was photographed in the process of doing it...........

IIRC he was 'pheasant hunting'. He did not harvest any, although he allegedly discharged the shotgun several times (A Perazzi, I believe, and not his, personally).

Fark.com had some splendid Photoshops of this scene shortly after his photograph was taken.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Kerry voted for Senator Ted Kennedy's bill that would have outlawed .30-30 due to its "armor piercing" capabilities.

One more time for the sake of getting the point across:

Kerry

voted

to

outlaw

private

possession

of

.30-30.

If Kerry is a friend of hunters and gun owners then the Marqui De Sade was a Buddhist monk.
