Well it's not official they still have to vote me in at their next meeting. so it will be nice to have a place to shoot clays and high powered rifles.

just curious what other clubs are charging to join. think this may be a little bit expensive. but a lot cheaper than paying by the hour at the indoor range.

Cool man. I've just been emailing back and forth with the local IDPA guy about possibly joining them. I need to acquire a third mag for my pistol though apparently so it's on hold for now.

Blackie,

My club is $200 per year. There was a $400 initiation fee in addition the first year.

Fee covers everything, except $3.00 per round for organized trap, skeet and sporting clays. They have throwers available for free if you bring your own clays. Rifle, Pistol, Achery Ranges are free. (Targets are 50 cents for 10 if you forget to bring your own). There are some nomial fees for things like CMP: $30-40. Matches will run you about $10. $2 to enter and a buck a round. Money goes to the winners. (who often donate their winnings to club) We do a lot of youth, women and disabled events. Nice people, good place. Proud to be a member

Howdy,
$50 a year, plus $3 a round for trap and skeet. Rifle out to 500 yards, pistol range out to 25yds. Both are covered. Running water and sewage. Matches cost about $7 total for pistol (three different events) and about the same for rifle. I'm glad I found this place :)

Black92LX sounds like your on one of the liberal coasts, I just returned to normalcy here in Idaho from a H*LL year in Massachusetts. Good luck getting in.

scout26 I can understand the vote in and dues etc. but "$200 per year. There was a $400 initiation fee in addition the first year. " OUCH!

Out here in Idaho we have the Recreational and Cultural Interest Signs (white letters on a brown sign)
RL-040.gif

that display Public shooting ranges out here.

There either free or 1$ a day to shoot at.

I'm jealous - I left a great gun club in Conover NC when I transferred jobs last year, and have not been able to find one in my new area of Winston-Salem/Greenboro NC.

$50 / year (up from $35 a couple of years ago) plus NRA membership. Rifle out to 1000 meters, steel plates at 25, 50 & 75 yds, combat pistol range, bowling pins, trash pit. No clays.
Running water, electrical hookups for your camper & outhouses.
Indoor range is in the works as soon as sufficient funds are available.

I'm in the process of joining one myself here in Illinois. $200 per year plus $125 initiation. Also have to put in so many hours a year working and clean up or pay for hours not worked. Don't have a rifle range but trap at $2.00 a round plus individual throwers you can use, indoor pistol range, Cowboy Action Shooting once a month, fast draw, Practical pistol, and a good group of people.

Portland area guys correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked both Douglas Ridge and Tri-County gun clubs were charging about $120.00/year plus 40 hours of volunteer work. On the other hand, right across the river in Vancouver the Washington Parks Department runs an English pit range that's $6.00/year plus $4.00/visit.
