Not sure if I spelled that right but here's a couple of links I found which will tell ALL of those interested in reloading and accomplishing the task of what to purchase to get you started....

This....
THRSearch.gif
or this...
GoogleSearch.gif

Heck, you can even use both... :D

Honestly guys and gals, if you can't simply use the time to search for something, then you don't have the time to reload. There is way more than enough information on this forum to make you an expert reloader....but enough with the multiple posts of "what should I get, what do you think, etc." I can guarantee you that it's been asked a thousand times before.

Just a little peave :D

I might be mistaken, but I thought that this was a "discussion" forum, not a "search the library" forum. I always use search first and foremost, but sometimes an updated or new thread on an old topic is good. To think that everything that needs to be known can be found on the search function simply isn't true. And, if you're bothered by newbies asking questions we've all discussed over and over, just don't click on that thread. Did you ever think that maybe new people asking questions is a good way for them to "break the ice" on a forum they are new to? Slamming them for not using the search function is kinda rude, really.
My $.02. Hope you got your monies worth. ;)

I agree with Rick, when you get right down to it there's virtually NOTHING on the front page of any of THR's forums that cannot be found in a dozen other threads using the search function

I've had a few forums that have stirred some heads :) Never said it wasn't a discussion forum, but how can you have an update to the same question of "which reloader to get" which ALWAYS has the same response of the same presses....LEE Classic Turret, Redding, Hornady Lock n Load for the money.....etc.
The intent of the thread was to hopefully get some people to search the thread and get an idea instead of the generic question of "What press should I get?" with the common response of, "what are you using it for/with....depends on what you want to do.....etc." Until a company comes out with new equipment for comparison; these threads of what to get, are never updated. The reloading market is coming out with new technology, but I can assure you it's not like the computer world :)

the problem with the search function is it is far to broad.... search threads and you look all day for a link that has some sort of relevance to what you are asking... search posts and you find a whole lot of BS that has little to do with anything but happened to mention the gun, knife, loader, bullet, powder, or scenario you were looking for... there are exceptions (as with stickies and CURRENT THREADS) but telling someone to use the search function or to Google just doesnt cut it. We are here to discuss topics and answer questions. If you dont like someone's question, dont answer it. It is that easy.

Besides all that....some of us like to answer ad nauseum newbie questions..........'cause it makes us look like we know what we're talking about............LOL

I agree!

I don't mind helping anyone who has a question which indicates that they have done some research or even looked around. But the majority I've seen, seem to be without any forethought and are repetitive. One does not even need to use a search function, especially in this forum. All that needs to be done is to flip within the last 3 pages and you can probably find at least 2 or 3 threads that ask the same question.
Heck, I just did a search in this forum for the specific words of "Which press" in the title and it yielded 23 pages...of which several threads had multiple pages of info....You CANNOT tell me that someone can't get the info they need to start with, from that :D I think what the answer some of the repeat askers want, is someone to just tell them what do buy and leave it at that :D
Told ya I can post some stuff to stir the head :D

I have a simple suggestion. Dont open up the thread if you think it bothers you. I don't think this stirs anything, all it does is show that your attitude is not very The High Road.

I've had a few forums that have stirred some heads Never said it wasn't a discussion forum, but how can you have an update to the same question of "which reloader to get" which ALWAYS has the same response of the same presses....LEE Classic Turret, Redding, Hornady Lock n Load for the money.....etc.

Tell you what, why don't you start a forum on your own website and then you can try to enforce the rules you think are necessary. But here, you need to get along or move along.

I'm not trying to get people all bent out of shape....although it's interesting to see how much some people put into these forums. I will use myself as an example. I have made a list of what I will be getting for reloading, simply off research, search function, and everything else; and not once have I asked a generic question of "what to get"; because I am smart enough to know that questions like those, have been asked a thousand times before, and it would take less time to search for it, that it would to ask the question itself only to be answered by an onslought of the same responses and leave the question unanswered, because someone has not specifically told me what to get.
My question is this. Why would you think that by providing someone will be able to make a choice from the povosions of answers with 6 different presses, 5 different trimmers, and 4 different powder measures as options for reloading, when they ask a generic question of what to get? Doesn't narrow it down a bit, does it?
Now I'll say that IMO, which is just the value of what I think about it....there are good questions with reference in what do it. But these are essentially poll questions regarding different presses. i.e. Hornady LnL vs. Dillon 650.....RCBS Rockchucker vs. Redding...reloading on a budget and what press (most often answered with LEE Turret).
As for the statement of, not very The High Road....well, I think the choice of the High Road is completely individual perspective as to what oneself chooses as the low road. Maybe I think I'm going right down the middle :D

LOL....Not very, The High Road....that made me giggle. I get along just fine. What makes you think that I don't get along with people? I simply made a suggestion. I'll give an example of what I mean and I'll use myself. Specifically in THIS forum (no others) with exception of gathering info for UltraSonic solution from 6mm....I have found EVERYTHING that I am going to purchase and what would be "best" for my application, by reading other forums....and not once have I had to ask the question, What to get. I have asked questions in reference of comparison of what people think about specific scopes, but have never asked others what to buy....
Boy, all kinds of people getting bent out of shape. Furthermore, it's a peave....Peaves aren't something that bother me....it's more of an annoyance. Not one person in the world can say they don't have a peave, but obviously some can say they let it bother them

Wow... Oblivious...

Told ya I can post some stuff to stir the head

It's obvious you enjoy this, too. Some people would call it a TROLL.

I'll allow you the last word, I'm out of this extremely helpful thread.

I was able to do so before the internet, therefore, there is no reason to post in this forum.

Virtually everything posted is or will be duped. Gives the dupe police something to do.

You guys should develop a ecitation. You could fill it out and forward to moderators requesting the thread be closed. It would free up a lot of bandwidth.

Sorry, changed the response....I edit posts a lot. Normally due to grammatical or spelling errors, but some times just to change the entire format :D

As for closing the thread, well, I was actually looking for an option under thread tools to completely delete it, as some other forums provide...but it wasn't there. I do not doubt that the thread will be closed because the philosophy behind forums is to create a non-sociological "Pleasantville" (hence The High Road) where people can go to not have their feelings hurt :) But once someone gets their little feelers garbled, everything is abliss.

Well, that's my last comment. Sorry to hurt y'alls feelings. Hope you can recover...and please, continue your endeavors of assistance to those less forthgoing :D

AzBuckfever, you need to slip over to some of the auto forums and read the questions there.

Example:

Where are my sparkplugs?
How do I check/or find my distributor? When this model uses a coil pak system.
Or better yet is how do you fix "whatever" problem and never give what make, model, or year.

Gets maddening.
