Me and a couple deputies from work went to angeles shooting range about a month ago

I bring out my model 29 smith and wesson 44 mag with a 8 3/8 barrel.

So I let one of my friend try it and he's a fairly decent shot.

They have a steel pig at I think 70 yards. In the left center of the pig is a heart cutout on a swinger. The heart is maybe 4 inches in diameter? and hangs in a 12 inch circular space . I have hit the heart maybe once or twice shooting with various calibers.

So my buddy steps up and I say "If you hit the heart, you got five bucks in your pocket" So I am thinking no way. the 44 mag is pretty hot ammo 220 grain FMJ at around 1400-1600 fps I would guess.

On the first freakin shot he nails the heart dead center. He hit it so perfect that the heart flips up behind the pig and is sitting up over its back now. he looks at me, with a S*** eating grin I must add, and says "Man now I gotta fix that"

He then proceeds to shoot the next shot and i'll be damned if he doesnt hit the heart hangin over the back and resets it to the original position.

I couldnt believe it, it was the damndest thing I have ever seen and one of the best two shots I have ever seen.

He finished the last 4 shots put the gun down and went on to other guns. I just looked at my gun and said to it "How dare you do that to me, you're going back in the box!" I put her away for the rest of the day.

I still owe the guy 5 bucks. It was worth every penny to see that. I thought you might enjoy that story. For those of you who go to angeles, you know how good these two shots were.

P.S. contrary to some popular belief, some deputies can flat out shoot.

OK, just to make you feel a little better......

The second shot just "tinged" the metal elsewhere on the porker and the shock was enought to make the heart drop back down.

But you still owe him the fiver.

Who once picked up a friend's target pistol for the first time, and put the first shot in the 10 ring. Who should have quite right there.
