I had never seen Nill grips "in the flesh," but photos and all the praise convinced me that I should part with the dough that they cost.

Boy am I NOT sorry. They fit great, feel great, look great, and shoot great. Plastic no more. Oh, and I had tried Hogue wood on them a while back and all I can say is (IMHO), no comparison! :D

Nice. But I have to ask. If you closed your eyes and picked up a 232 with Hogue and one with Nill, how can you feel the difference. Cosmetically, the Nill pattern is styled different, but what makes them feel different? Because the price is really far apart.

OH25,

I'm glad you asked. It's in the swell in the palm and the overall circumference. The Nill do feel better in my hand. The only way I know is that I didn't like the feel of the Hogues and returned them. If I had had the same initial response to the Nill grips, they would have been returned as well, no matter the cost or how they looked. But, I had the opposite response. They felt good immediately. Your mileage may vary.

As for price, if you compare apples to apples, the exotic wood Hogue grips cost from around $85 to $105. The Nill's are $113.

The 230/232 is IMO the prettiest pistol made and yours in stainless with those grips is just droolworthy.I got mine in blued alloy to save a bit of weight for CCW but do wish that I'd gone for an SL now as I've replaced it with a 239 for actual carry.
