I am left handed:neener:, but Tuesday night I broke the 5th metacarpal in my right hand:banghead:. I carry a Kel-Tec PF9 with the belt clip on my right side inside the waistband and my XD9 on the left side in the LH XD holster. Something I never thought about was cross-training those pistols with the off-hand. So tomorrow I go to the range to work on shooting the KT with my L hand from the L side. In hind sight, I should have practiced before an injury. Not after.

Just a thought for those that never thought of training with their off hand.

I take a page from Paul Gomez's book and train 1/3 with each hand. Don't train 2H-left-dominant though, just 1H left-hand techniques. If I am using my left hand it's because my right is injured (previous to or during a fight)

Well, I train one handed...I had just been only using my right for the backup KelTec, and my left, dominant hand for the XD9. Realized after the break that I'm very unfamiliar with the KelTec in the LH and probably unfamiliar with the XD9 in the RH.

I always shoot the right hand vs the left hand at the range. Both two hand hold and bullseye one hand hold. It depends on the day which hand is better. If you practice enough you can do this......Alot of folks think they can only do things with one hand. Why do you thing God gave you two hands? chris3

I have to re-qualified every year on the LA. State Post corse.
Here is my POST targets from a year ago with my off duty weapon. The corse is a total of 60 rounds fired from 25, 14, 7, 4 and 2 yards. And yes there is some unsuported strong and off hand shooting in the corse.

Well, the trip today to the range went well. I did not set up a target due to the downpour and high winds, but did shoot at a plastic 'thingy' in the puddle about 25 ft away. Did fine, but noticed that chambering a round is a low process with one hand...
