i bought a gunslick ar 15 kit pull through for 25 bucks, and it doesn't work like you would think for 22s since the ejection port isnt long enough you cant use it for 22s the brass female thread section is to long to work (i cheaped out and didn't want to pay 50 for an otis since i already have 5 other cleaning rods at home) but i got this for guns like a 10/22 and other guns to be cleaned from the chamber. moral of the story get an otis or just a boresnake for those guns you cant really clean from the chamber

If you get a Boresnake, don't use it until it is badly worn or rotten. I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago, about a guy that broke one off in his AR barrel and was trying to get it out.

Is a piece of 550 cord a kit? I clean .308's with a piece of 550 and an over-hand knot in one end through a pre-punched hole in a flannel patch. For other calibers I use different cord sizes and/or different knots. To see how they will fit when trial fitting them, I leave a pig tail long enough at the knot end to enable it to be pulled back out if need be from the entry end. I center the pulled line at the muzzle between my fingers to protect the crown.
