Just bought a Glock 30SF *PICS*

I just bought my new carry gun, a Glock 30 SF. I just made a sweet appendix leather IWB holster for it and am waiting for my Mitch Rosen Tito's Revenge (Black cowhide with sharkskin trim) and Milt Sparks VMII (Black horsehide with sharkskin trim) to come in. I put XS Big Dot Tritium Night Sights on it and they are perfect; the best night sights I've ever owned. This is a fantastic piece - it's hard to beat 11 rounds of .45 ACP which expand to more than 9/10th of an inch using DoubleTap Ammo:

185gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1225fps - 12.75" / .82"
200gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1125fps - 14.25" / .88"

I use the 230 gr. 11 rounds should be enough to keep me safe until I can get away from the area

I chose this Glock 30SF over my previous carry gun, an Ed Brown Kobra Carry 1911 with Elephant Ivory Grips

I think a ccw gun should be an accessory to whatever clothes you are wearing. If you're in a suit(and won't be taking it off), take the ed brown, if you're sporting jeans or shorts, wear the glock.

I am able to conceal both no matter what I am wearing so it is a choice based on which will protect me better in any given situation. In the case between these two choices, the Glock 30SF gives me 11 rounds versus 8 total with the Kobra Carry. I can put the rounds wherever I choose at a reasonable distance with both pistols.

If I wore a Glock 30 @ 11-1:00 I would not fare well in the concealment department.

Did you get the Big Dot or Small Dot sights?

I chose the Big Dot sights based on my experience with them in the past. I love them.

I carry a G-30SF as a back up weapon. Its a little bulky, but I like it. I have heard from several sources that state the G-30 is the most accurate pistol that Glock makes. I have noticed that the barrel rifling looks different from my 21SF's.

Nice guns both. Did you grind down the finger grooves on the G30 before adding the hogue?

what do you mean? I cut the hogue grip down if that's what you mean

Doesn't the G30SF come with finger grooves/humps in the frontstrap like every other glock nowadays?

Doesn't the hogue interfere with the finger grooves on the frame? I slipped a hogue I have lying around onto my G23 and the frame grooves made the hogue ride and feel funny. Yours looks great and I was just wondering if you'd sanded the frame bumps down first.

I just picked mine up last week (30SF) and shot it for the first time about 2 hrs ago !!! what a sweetheart !! Now I need to figure out how to carry it ! I am also ogling those bigdot sights ! I am thinking about a "cell pal " holster ! I have a nylon IWB holster that fits pretty good in the small of my back ,but I want something that conceals a little better with my shirt tucked in ! Kevin
