[A Tribute To] The **GLOCK 27**

Ahh I had a feeling it was you. So do you still have the P2000sk? You didn't like it? (If you don't do you want to sell me that brown/black VM2??? lol)

Regarding appendix carry:

1) How in the world do you come up with the notion that you can somehow STOP a hammer from falling if the trigger is snagged?
2) What are trigger guards for?
3) ALWAYS holster slowly and carefully. Nobody ever won a fight with a speed reholster.
You don't stop the hammer from falling. You stop the hammer from drawing back in the first place (by placing your thumb over it) or visually verifying that it isn't moving while you slowly holster it. Ask the NFL star that just shot himself why he didn't make better use of his trigger guard (even though it wasn't a glock from what I read). I agree with your last statement, but if a drawstring, button, etc makes its way in your trigger guard it won't matter how slowly or carefully you holster your Glock. I say that because it has happened to people before.

I sold the holster a little while ago, as well as my P2000SK .40 LEM. I just like the G27 better. It's just me personal preference.

Thanks! Btw, I'm willing to bet that a lot of the "fluffy" people looking at your pics are sitting there thinking, "Damn, I wish I could conceal a gun that comfortably!" LOL. I'm 5' 11" and 180lbs so I'm not "fluffy," but I'm also not as lean as you. Your body-type and that VM2 are ideal for concealed carry.

You're welcome ;) I've had it for a long time now and I will buy from him again if he is still making belts when this one wears out, lol!

I actually find the CT Laser Grip to be comfortable and very natural feeling. It also guides my hand to the correct position because of the top right part (the laser enclosure) that sits right above my hand. This is just my personal opinion.

Kashton, I agree 100%. You can't find what I believe to be a better CCW gun than the G27 10 rounds of 40 in a gun that light, small and imervious to weather and sweat. just can't beat it. It may not be perfect but its close.

From the police shooting investigations I've been part of, I've come away believing that the 40 is better than the 9mm and the 45.

Unfortunately, by the time my department approved the Glock they standardized on the 9mm so I usually carry a G26 with ranger +P+ ammo. But given the oppertunity, I take the G27 any day. It will certainly be my retirement carry gun.

As a side note I am granfathered in with my SIG 220 in 45 but my G17 holds 18 rond as opposed to 8 and I can backit up with the 26 and both will use the G17 mags. Working in a suit I usually carry the G26 IWB backed up with a G17 mag. Of course you can also do this with the 27 and a G22 mag.

Sorry for the long semi thread stealing post.

I like the Glock 27 too.

I carried a Glock 27 until my wife surprised me with a Glock 33 as a birthday gift. I now carry the 33.

The Glock 26/27/33 are the highest capacity, most controlable guns I can carry for most of the time. Typically all I need is a loose untucked shirt with my Kydex clip on holster carried just to right of zipper.

If I want a little less weight, or slightly more concealibility I carry a Kahr PM40 in the same location, in a Kydex clip on holster.

The "always" carry gun is a Kel-Tec or Ruger LCP, pocket carry.

I actually carry a J-frame revolver. The little Glocks are too bulky for me. BUT, I did own a glock 26 for a while so I could check out its carry potential(too bulky like I said) for me. I was astonished at that little pistol. If it would have carried better for me I would have carried it until I died. Extraordinary shooter for such a little gun. Super accurate, reliable, very little recoil. I can't say enough about that 26 except that it was just too blocky for me compared to my S&W J.

I read some extensive exchanges between a gent who was the coroner in Atlanta for 13 years.

He made no claim to what he witnessed other than he did witness 13 years of real life shootings in Atlanta and he personally conducted the autopsies.

He said there were examples of every caliber making a one shot stop.

But he said the two that consistently did this and outstripped all others combines were .40 S&W and .45ACP. Just his two cents worth.

That little G27 is very cool and once you get the built in safety features it is indeed an excellent carry piece.

My carry guns are a Glock 27 with Glock OEM 10 shot mags, and Smith 642 Centennial.

My IDPA gun is a Glock 26 set up just like the 27. Same night sights, same NY-1 trigger. The 26, being in 9mm, is cheeper to shoot and I don't have to clean it after ever practice session (it's a competiton gun, not a carry gun.)

The only thing I'm going to add is a AACK .22 unit for the 26. That will allow .22 lr. ammo practice (like my Glock 17 is set up.)

This thread being 8 years old, I'm going to try to send it back to its grave, new board software permitting.
