I bought a new Sig P220R with night sights yesterday and broke it in this morning. This is my first semi-auto so I don't have much to compare it to. I've shot a few others but never owned one. I did a lot of research on .45s and decided this was the one for me. I shot my friends 220 and loved it. The one I bought says "SigArms Exeter, NH ... Frame Made in Germany' on the right side of the frame with the Sauer circle logo next to it. I haven't seen that before. The Sauer logo looks nice.

My initial reaction is that this gun is simply excellent. It feels great in my hands. Is very accurate. I only fed 150 rounds through it but I'm sure it will be as reliable as Sigs are known for. After breaking it down to clean and looking it over, the parts all look great, every thing is very nicely/precisely finished inside and out.

50 CCI Blazer 230gr
50 Lawman/Speer 230gr
50 Remington 'green box' 230gr
it ate it all just fine, good groupings

you all think full size 1911s and full size 220s are too big for concealed carry ?

Happy new Sig owner
:)

Congatulations on the new Sig:) . Is this your first one? If so you need to get a P-226 9mm to go with it. Sig is also the only one to make a 40 S&W that I like. You may try the Sig Pro too. You can't have just one, let the collecting begin:evil: . (12 Sigs and counting:neener: )

Not at all, those full size guns conceal just fine, granted your wearing somewhat proper clothing. The size and weight aren't even an issue to me, I just think that the current fad now is to sell to the CCW market and all full sized guns are "too big and heavy". Wear an IWB holster and keep your shirt out, you'll be fine.
