I have talked about this on the THR forum before, but I took the plunge. I have been wanting a specific rifle for my needs to hunt coyotes on my farm. I already have an M&P15 Sport 2 that shoots great, but I wanted something specific that I would scope for out to 200 yards or so. I couldn't afford a hunting specific Rock River Arms or other brand right now, so I watched a bunch of Youtube gun videos and read a lot of your comments in THR and I decided to build what I wanted for my specific purpose. I hunt from a collapsible ground blind for deer, turkey and coyote because I can't climb trees anymore or lay on the ground, inner ear problem and early onset of arthritis.. So I need something as handy as my Marlin 336 or Winchester 92 for inside the blind. The whole idea was to make exactly what I wanted, as low cost as I could, and get experience in the internals of an AR without breaking down my M&P until I was sure I could do it. So here it is, I just finished it this morning and took it out for a 50 round shake down just to make sure it functions. No hiccups at all.

PSA Stainless MLOK 16" free-float upper in 1/7: I want to shoot heavier bullets in case they ever legalize .223 or 5.56 for deer hunting in Kentucky. I also wanted a 16" instead of a 20" in case they ever pass the Hearing Protection Act and I can put a suppressor on it and it won't be too long in a blind. If not, that's OK.

Anderson multicaliber lower and stainless lower kit: I got a great deal at my LGS on Black Friday. The trigger is a little stiff and not as good as my M&P, but I haven't shot her much yet so we'll see after a couple of hundred rounds.

Standard charging handle from LGS: nothing fancy.

PSA 5.56 Premium HPT/MPI full auto BCG: was going to get their nickel boron BCG but they had a great sale on this a few days ago and couldn't pass up the savings.

PSA A2 buffer tube, buffer and spring: Because I want to use a fixed rifle stock and set the scope eye relief for it. I also wanted a stock that will take a few bumps and I am used to hunting with fix stocked rifles.

Magpul A2 rifle stock: Just because I can store my hunting license and little things in the storage compartment if I go off my property and hunt a neighbor's farm. I also like the looks of it and I saved some money buying parts on sale at PSA to splurge on it.

Anderson pistol grip: Came with lower kit and no need to buy a different one right now, will be using gloves anyway.

Magpul front and rear flip up back up sights: Used the rear sight from the M&P because I have a carry handle on it for banging around in the Jeep. Bought the front sight at Academy near me.

MagpuL OD green trigger guard: Just a little tribute to my late dad who was wounded twice in Vietnam in two separate tours. He taught me how to hunt when I was just a boy. Bought at LGS.

Magpul 10 round Magazine: For hunting purposes.

I will be checking the before and after Christmas sales for a scope. I don't need anything expensive. I hunt with a Banner Dawn/Dusk scope on my 336 and have killed deer with it. I may be looking at that or a specific AR scope within reason.

Anyway, I am kinda proud of it. Will see how accurate it is when I can get the scope.
