Taurus is fickle about keeping stuff around unless it sets sales records. I hope you're right, cause I'd like to pick up a 405, but can't for probably another year due to tight finances at the moment.

I had a mid 80s Charter that was crappy, a .38. I got rid of it. I've no experience with 'em lately, though. Their QC and quality varies with reincarnations of the company, it seems
MCGunner,
I think the 405 will be around a while. They still make the 905 9mm while everyone else has dropped their 9mm revolvers. And Charter has jumped on the bandwagon with their own .40 and soon 9mm revolvers. I think the playing field has changed in recent years with all the people looking for CC guns. Also, I have 3 Charters of recent manufacture and they are all great guns.

I voted for the Bulldog. I have a 3" Charter Arms 44spl. I love it. Just expensive to feed.

I'd take the Charter rimless in .45acp, but when a company has been talking about it since 2009, I won't be holding my breath.

I don't think the .44 Special is slipping. There are more ammo makers supplying ammo for it now than in a long time. Check out Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, Winchester (200gr Gold Dot) & several others. I think there is more factory ammo for in now than there has ever been. Some of it may not be available in certain areas, but there is mail order.

I have an old 3" 44 Bulldog, love it.

But my vote, Charter rimless in .45acp . Whole lot more 45acp out there.
