That's what I'm mostly doing, Hookeye. Probably won't do anything else with this rifle [just the Burris 1-4]. Barrel shoots very well for what it is and what the entire rifle cost [SOME barrels cost nearly as much, if not more than, the entire cost of this rifle! I'm going to have way too much fun with this! :)

Skylerbone, I have a bunch of SV and a good supply of Minimags. I wanted this rifle strictly for Velocitors. I have a good number of those too.

I like the looks and functionality of that integral rail on the receiver.

I have stripped one of the holes in my 10/22 receiver too. It is a glaring weakness in the 10/22. I suppose a 'smith could put in some steel bushings, but probably be money ahead to get a TC.

Another tip that helps accuracy is to remove the barrel/receiver block and check to see if the barrel is fairly tight in the receiver. If there's any wiggle, consider using shim stock (available at Brownells) and some Locktite Stud and Bearing Mount liquid. It really makes a very tight and strong assembly, but can be melted out with a heat gun, if ever necessary.

If you don't already have a larger diameter threaded hole, consider doing so. Also after getting a new threaded hole and larger screw to fit, use a torque wrench (limiting torque to 18-20 INCH-POUNDS), and use Red Locktite on both threads and under the mount base.
