I'm rolling the dice here, but for the price of $17.40/brick after you buy 5 bricks, I'm in.:D Even after shipping and hazmat, it comes out to $227 or $20.60/brick. I can't buy them locally for less than $27/brick, Winchester and CCI.

Hopefully they will work out okay. If they do, I'll be buying more.:D
 
Haven't shot the SP yet, but the LP are very uniform in size and load very well in my 650. They go bang every time too.

As for the SP, let us know how they go, I have 10K of them but I'm not ready to start loading my .40 and 9mm yet, been concentrating on 10mm and .45 lately.
 
Powder Valley has Wolf Primers for $90/5000, that's only $1 more than Wideners. If you are ordering powder and primers at the same time from Powder Valley they will charge you only 1 Hazmat fee.

As does Graf's, who BTW don't charge shipping, only a "handling" fee of $4.5 per order.

On their site...
"Order 32 lbs of smokeless powder and Graf & Sons pays the Haz Fee. You may order up to 50 lbs of smokeless powder and primers under 1 Haz Fee."

Wolf SP brick at $95.99 almost make more sense in some instances if your ordering enough powder already...

Given some of the anecdotal stuff I've read on the forums about Wolf ammo, I think I'll wait until some of the "early returns" come in about the primers before I buy any.

Wolf is an importer, not necessarily a brand. Much (all?) of the steel stuff is from Russia but the Wolf Gold centerfire stuff is mostly Prvi Partizan. Wolf .22LR is some of the better stuff you can buy. I'm not sure which country the primers are coming out of, but they've been on the market for a while now and there are no horror stories.
 
The wolf (Russian) primers are supposed to be some of the best out there in terms of consistency. A number of people have tested them for muzzle velocity variations, and they've come out as the best, even over the common US brands. Nothing wrong with wolf primers. The problems people have had with wolf & wolf MC ammo is the lacquer on the cases, or just using a dirty powder. The Wolf Gold line is made by Prvi Partizan in Serbia. The short version is: Russian primers = good. Russian steel cased ammo = fair. Serbian brass cased ammo = pretty good.

Hell, winchester metric ammo is manufactured in Europe anyway.
