I just ordered a new Beretta 92FS with two Beretta hi cap mags from CDNN.

The price is $419.99. Shipping (plus nominal NRA round up) brings the total to $434.

My local guys say that it is being brought in out of state. Normally that means no sales tax.

But they said that since the supplier is their regular supplier, and that they could have gotten me the same gun, now they're going to charge me tax.

Plus there is the transfer fee.

So now the total is $492.68.

Is this an ok price for a new Beretta 92FS with two hi cap mags?

And they keep emphasizing it's shipped in a cardboard box. What's it supposed to be shipped in?

I think I'm getting a headache.

I'm pretty sure that is a fair price because high cap mags go for about 40 a piece of im not mistaken. Either way i think the msrp on the beretta website is 650.

If I were you, I'd change your transfer FFL. Still at less than $500, it's a good deal. So either change your FFL, or quit complaining. I paid a little more than $600 out of the door for my new 92FS.

You should do a search for the thread on Beretta blowing out the 92 at discount prices to make way for their new model. As I recall, the prices kicked around in that thread were $419-$450.

Thanx for the advice. I called CDNN and they were very nice. I told them I wanted to cancel the order, find a FFL who was not going to charge me sales tax in addition to a transfer fee, and reorder later. They said no problem. Thanx again.

Pay more than 25 locally and you're getting ripped off. OEM can be found for around 30 on the internet.

It wouldn't be wrong of you to consider taking your business elsewhere. If all the shop guy has to do is an NICS check, that's 5 minutes of work for whatever fee you're paying him to do it. Hardly something he can complain about, let alone charge you money to punish you for beating his system.

No NICS check. I have a CCL. He was going to get the transfer fee plus the sales tax he was tacking on. Sales tax was going to be about $40.

I cancelled the order until I can find another FFL.

I don't know your local guy, so maybe I am wrong but I would be willing to bet that your sales tax would have never made it to the government, your guy was upset that he was not getting his profit so that was a way of making it.
