also, let me know if anyone knows how it'll take to get the ammo. i only ordered a couple boxes.

thanx

Dangit, Made me use Google again.
Should be a crime to talk about a new product and not give a link!
Just yank'n your chain! Thanks for the suggestion.

SwampFox Premium 40 S&W 180gr Gold Dot Hollow Point Max Vel Ammo
40 S&W Auto
180 gr Speer Gold Dot Hollow Point Bullets
New Starline Brass or Top Brass
Winchester or Remington large Pistol Primers
Hodgdon and/or Winchester Powder, Hand Weighed
1200fps 525 ft/lbs energy@ Muzzle. From a Stock Glock 22.

Thats gotta be pushing 10mm load specs threw a .40!
Now im just waiting to see what they have for the 230gr .45acp as the 185gr they load dont look much better than normal SD rounds.

^^lol!

yeah out of doubletap & buffalo bore, the gent at swampfox is the only one that's not using crappy montana gold jhp's in his ammo. plus he has youtube vids showing him using the chrony to show the velocities too. doubletap's stuff is falling way short of advertised velocities according to the million threads i've read on the subject.

looks like swampfox is the man to deal with for 10mm :)

hopefully this will make the others (DT and BB) step their game back up too

DT, yes - they aren't what they used to be, but BB......nothing wrong there.

except they advertise gold dot, and send you montana gold

they do seem to reach their claimed velocities, but i can't accept cheap jhp's, especially considering BB is more expensive than pretty much all others...

Taken from Buffalo Bore's website.....something to think about with all ammo -
The new Glock model 20 comes with a recoil spring that allows the breech face to open too soon and my new Glock model 20 will get extreme spreads of about 100fps with the factory spring installed. When I go to a stiffer recoil spring, the extreme spreads drop to about 50 fps in my new Glock model 20

I have found Doubletap's ammo to be pretty accurately advertised in the past when fired through polygonal rifling.

I think many of the older complaints are people using other types of rifling and getting lower velocities as a result.

They may have gotten worse as the amount of product they move has increased though.

As DasFriek noted:

That SwampFox advertised velocity sounds rather scary in a .40S&W.
180 grain at 1200 FPS is 10mm territory.
I think bullet setback from rechambering, or a less than clean barrel would quickly turn that into a kaboom load.

10mm "territory" is a 180grn bullet at 1325-1350fps.

the above 40cal round in question is certainly hot. however, he also tested that round out of a stock glock 22. ;)

I have shot swamp fox ammo 180gr (real gold dots) they thump (glock 20 22lb recoil spring). I do not have a chrony but after shooting BB in the same session . I think they are doing an honest 1300 or better. I just ordered some
of his Silver Tips (new design 1350 fps) and 200 gr XTP . Customer service is excellent. I would say he is the best game in town.

A close friend of mine just shot the 180 gr (swamp fox ) through a chrono
fps was 1380 on a average. (real gold dots).:
