Well, I got rid of the .44 marlin today and on the way back swung through the flea market and what did I see, but a sweet little .22 mag calling my name... I've been looking for one for about a year now and this one was apparently the one I was supposed to get
I got some CCI gamepoint ammo for it (40gr. 1875 fps) and after I threw the little k-mart scope away and replaced it with another cheapo but slightly better scope put some rounds through it. Didn't have a chance to go out to the 100 yard range I have set up but I dialed it in in about 5 shots and it seems pretty darn good!
There does seem to be quite a bit of powder residue in the barrel after firing these rounds, is that maybe a bad batch of ammo or is this normal? Never had a .22 mag before so I figured I'd ask here.
I'll give a better report tomorrow when I get to go out and use my 100 yard range out back.
