I love the look and feel of the pistol. The trigger is very nice. The thumb safety is extremely stiff. I hope this is an anomaly which will fix itself but I have my doubts. Even though the trigger is the perfect pull weight it might be slightly long for me. I'm thinking about replacing the front sight with a HiViz or something more seeable for my old eyes. Anybody have a stiff thumb safety on this model Colt? If so will Colt fix it? And, how much of a hassle is it to replace/fit a new shorter trigger to a CGCT?

I'm not very computer or photography savvy but I'll try to take some pics and upload them to this site. It may take awhile since I'm sending the pistol back tomorrow to Colts Product Services Dept. for repair of the safety and to get estimates on the short trigger and front sight replacement.

BTW: Is there an FAQ about how to upload photos and attach them to a post??

mach1.3, The thumb safety will likely smooth up just slightly with use. The stiffness is common. No doubt Colt will address it. I fitted an Ed Brown thumb safety to my GCT. Since King Gun Works closed, there is not too much choice in Gold Cup triggers. Some aftermarket triggers require no fitting, some a little, some, like the Dlask, may require quite a bit. Even if an aftermarket trigger drops in, there are some important safety checks to be done. I replaced my Very Looose factory GCT trigger with a fitted medium length Dlask.

Since you're sending your gun back anyway, I think you're smart to inquire about Colt doing the changes you're interested in. My GCT had to go back twice for serious, non personal preference issues, and was gone six months or so in total. Good luck with yours.
