Just pulled a gun for the first time in 4 1/2 years

I imagine you running out with a shotgun scared the living piss out of them for a while. I usually like to let the parents handle stuff like this since the police can be a pain. You might get arrested for brandishing or something similar if the cop doesnt like armed citizens. I would of had them call their parents.

You instructed the teens without making enemies of them. They were doing something really stupid. They were corrected without suffering the hassle that could have befallen them. They've got every reason to rethink their stupid acts without having the fall back justification that you over-reacted, and I think calling the cops or ratting them out to their parents would have been over-reacting....

Gotta be carefull jeeper, you bring them in the house to call they're parents while toting a shotgun I can think of a number of charges a screwey DA could come up with... Tactial issues as well even to my normally ever so untatical mind
Actually on hearing the "pop" and spotting the three figures in your backyard, arming yourself and taking up a safe position in the house and calling the cops (45 minutes last time or not) may not have been a bad idea. Three on one is frankly lousy odds to be betting on your much less your familys lives.
As you asked for opinions, many could and would have done much worse. Just don't be scared to take the absolute safest option. Cautios people live long enough to make up great macho lies

I cannot advise you, but I wouldn"t call the cops either. Around here & most places I been, they are irrelavent cept traffic tickets.But follks need to be careful ThePolice/DAs like to make examples. Thanks
