The M18 is new for 2018. The one I held seemed very solid. If they come out with a nice wood stock version, it'll definitely be on my list.I didn’t even know they made rifles. Where have I been?
I just looked up their rifles. I’d never pay $8k for a rifle. But they sure are gorgeous. I’d really like to handle one of their M18’s. Probably wouldn’t buy it because it doesn’t fill ANY need. But someday it might.....The M18 is new for 2018. The one I held seemed very solid. If they come out with a nice wood stock version, it'll definitely be on my list.
I second that...Pics or it didn't happen.
Didn't realize that there were shots on deer over 500 yards in Missouri, since that's when the 6.5 Creedmoor actually has more energy than the .308.
At typical hunting shots of under 300yds, the .308 is ballistically superior as a hunting round.
But the rifle looks interesting...

Sorry, but I'll take the word of my father who has hunted big game on nearly every continent for over 50 years over some random internet person. He says the .308 is superior at killing animals at ethical hunting distances than the 6.5 Creedmoor. You really need to study ballistics a bit more.
If I were going out on opening morning (which I will) and I could choose between the two, I’d most likely take the 6.5 simply because it kicks less and will still be adequate. Does that mean the .308 wouldn’t Work? Millions of dead critters would argue otherwise.Surely we can have a thread about the man's new rifle that doesn't get warped into another cartridge bashing festival.
No but I’m about to, ordering one soon. Mauser is known for quality and recent reviews have stated that this model delivers well beyond its price point. Additionally, ballistic tables have well established the 6.5 Creedmoor to be “essentially unmatched” in its class - based on a simple matter of physics (real science), not opinion. You made a fantastic choice in both cartridge and rifle! Enjoy!I just got it from Academy Sports... anyone else have any experiences with this rifle?
