Just picked this up the other day, got a chance to put a few rounds through it yesterday. Comparing it to my RRA 9mm, it has some pluses and some definite minuses. For the good, it functions without a hitch(for awhile), feeding, and ejection was perfect with this thing, no surprise using Glock magazines, I didn't foresee a feeding issue that I had with some Uzi mags with the RRA. I also like the free float hand guard on the JRC over the huge car hand guard on the RRA. After sighting it in, I was able to hold decent groups until the no name pos dot sight I put on it quit working! Sight upgrade will be my next purchase(irons!), but it held zero until it quit, and later found out the thing still works if you set it between the brightness settings not on the setting...I was zereoed at 37yrds, shooting 3" groups, and backed up to 100yrds where it shot 4" high and about 6"groups. Shooting off of a rest, with a 20$ junk sight, no magnification, I was happy!! Now for the bad... After about 60rds fired, the trigger intermittently stopped resetting on me(happened 4 times). All I had to do is very lightly pull back on the bolt, and it reset. A few rounds later, I noticed the bolt handle was loose, so I tightened it up and continued some 100yrd off hand shooting. I was amazed at the ease of hitting my 11"x 20" steel silhouette!! This is when I noticed every bolt on the rifle was loose! I didn't have that size hex bit on me so I packed it up and went home. After cleaning up all the threads, and applying a dose of blue Loctite, I'm ready for next time. I'm thinking the trigger reset issue was from the loose bolts, and hope the Loctite fixes that! Nice accurate little rifle, that kicks harder than my Mini 14!!

Those are very interesting carbines, and using Glock mags will be a big selling point for some folks.

You can always fix the hand guard on the RRA. :D

I haven't let anyone shoot my RRA 9MM carbine that hasn't liked it. The last one handed it back and said, "man, this thing is sweet".

More good 9MM carbine options is always a good thing. Do the JRCs have mag options, or do they all use Glock mags? An XDm mag version would be nice.

I am aware of a 1911 version, along with 9mm, 40S&W, 45ACP Glock versions, M&P 9mm & 40. Since the magazine housing is modular, you can change calibers for $300. The only AR-15 parts are the Milspec receiver extension, trigger group, and pistol grip, the rest is JRC only.

Nice! Seems like a little TLC and you have yourself a fine 9mm platform there.

I Just finished assembling my 9mm AR pistol...wish it ran on glock mags but the brownells colt SMG mags are pretty damn nice so I'm not worried about them (nor the x products drum mag haha)

havent gotten a good range test in, just an initial test fire.

Now that im ready to put an optic on, I am wondering what distance people like to zero at?

OP, was 37yds a randomly selected zero??

Yeah, I was just hoping to get on a paper plate! I was shooting down a lane between fields off my tailgate, couldn't get closer(wanted 25). Have some Magpul mbus sights on the way, so my next session wont be cut short;)

Update

Got out today after installing my MBUS back up sights, and re zeroed at 25 yards. This time I shot prone off of a front rest, and was quite impressed! 1" groups, no failures, no shooting the bolts loose:D I found a set screw opposite the windage adjuster on my cheap sight, meant to lock it on zero, and had no troubles with the sight this time. Great little 9mm carbine!!

Very nice! 1" groups is great.

I plan to run my AR9mm extensively this memorial day weekend for a mini torture test, id be more than happy if I get consistent 1 inch groups.

I have a CX4 and you're right about recoil, it punches the shoulder harder than my AR. Glad I didn't get the 45 or 40.

That's the unlocked blowback operation. If you get a pistol caliber AR that is DI, no problem. I have a 9" AR pistol in .357 SIG and it recoils like a .22LR. But it does have a short gas tube and it is DI.
