Just saw 28 Weeks Later!

For those who love a good zombie flick go see 28 Weeks Later! If you liked the first one you will like the second. One of the more realistic zombie(ish) movies out there, definitely on par with the first one.

As far as guns go....well there are some in it, maybe more than some.....
If you like M14 sniper rifles then you should definitely go see this movie, also some tweaked M4's and a funny scene with a chopper used as a anti-zombie weapon!

Anyway I just wanted to spread the word that its worth seeing if you get the chance!

28 DAYS Later

The first film, "28 Days Later" was on the tube t'other night. Watched it for the second time and liked it even more than the first time. Lookin' forward to the sequel.

I was surprised not seeing any guns in the first film (until, that is, the obligatory crazy soldiers story line), but look forward to seeing a bit of iron in this, the sequel.

Not to hijack, but has anyone seen the last "Body Snacher" film that came out last year? Not bad at all, and lots of good gun stuff (remember the 9mm/.357 comparison scene!!).

Just saw it.
There were some incredibly silly lapses in logic, planning, and "tactics" in it that defied the most common of common sense.

I liked the first half though- Robert Carlyle is great as usual.

I wait for the DVD. I can smoke a cigar, drink a beer, and talk during the movie.

I found it really interesting that the hero's M-14 turned into an M-4 right before the exciting part. As long as you're not expecting realism, logic, or sense, it was a good movie. Lots of action and things blowing up. I give it a B-minus.

The first one is a good film- it really shows that most Brits will have to use baseball bats and blunt objects during a major civil crisis, while only the military will have guns- and it shows how well that works.


The second film looks pretty good!

I noticed that, too. He reached down and picked up the M4 before leaving his position. I believe he was carrying the M4 earlier in the film when joking with the helicopter pilot, as well. My guess is that the M4 is probably intended to be his individual weapon, where as the M14s and M107s are used by whoever happens to be manning the rooftop posts at the time.

Nephew and I saw it yesterday. Between us, we rated it about B-.

I found it to be an assault on the senses. But I'm getting old, and I keep forgetting that movies are now played at rock concert volume. I've got to remember to bring earplugs to the next one -- then maybe I'll enjoy it more.

I appreciated most the character of the Delta force fellow. He was believable and likeable. And the rifles sounded perfect... the sound guys did a great job. We had both been to the range earlier that day, and the rifle reports were not distinguishable from what I had heard earlier that day. A gas operated .223 has a distinctive sound, and they captured it perfectly. Very well done.

I also like that the movie passed up many opportunities to turn the characters into cliche's. Yeah, I know, a Zombie movie is a cliche'. But still.

Logic? It's a Zombie movie.

I love the tactic of "...in the pitch black tube station look through the night vision scope of your rifle pointed only at the children's heads which block your view of any infected ahead because for some reason you've made them walk point in front of you toward the threat in absolute darkness down an escalator strewn with corpses underfoot which eventually they'll trip on and tumble down."

Yeah, that really kept me rootin' for them to live!

Logic? It's a Zombie movie.

Seriously, to make something fantastic and unbelievable work best in a "realistic" settting, it's important to make as many of the normal things and behaviors seem logical and real since you're already being asked to suspend your disbelief of the fantasy element. Or else, why didn't they just get a genie to summon cyborg dragon soldiers to save them from the imaginary zombies?

That movie was intense Period. The sniper scene and the Dark scene kept me on the edge on my seat. The beginning scene was ok as i thought they moved the camra too much, thank god they stopped that. The ending was stupid to me, why did they go there of all places, and why not go to some place to help them. Thats about all i can say with out spoilers.


The guns scene looked good too. Rated an A for horror/Zombie movie.

Too Torpid, i belive they did that so that she could keep an eye on the kids. Make sure they did not get left behind. Also if they were behind, it would be harder to keep track of them and guide them, she would have to turn around constantly, to guide the kids and to see were the Zombies are. This way she can look for both in the same direction. Made sense to me. About falling, well if they fell in back of her they would of taken her to, and in her fall she could of broke the night vision/ or lost the rifle.

I just saw it last night, I thought Dawn of the Dead (the remake) was better. I figure the original Dawn of the Dead where the zombies were uncoordinated, and basically stumbling around was probably more accurate as far as zombies go.

I thought 28 days later was far better than 28 weeks later, most the movie it seemed like they were trying to keep the military from killing them.

Worth seeing but definitely a rental.

In "28 Weeks Later", the "zombies" weren't undead. They were infected humans with a virus. They had nutritional requirements, though they were not picky about the source of their food and lettuce is right out

I prefer the fast moving zombies over the shambers. IMHO, the speed makes the movie much more horrific.

Regarding the M14 vs. M4: they showed him putting the M14 away and picking up the M4.

I liked the dark scenes; very intense. The "worst" was when the infected father got into the underground bunker. I remember a concert where I felt the push of a crowd...imagine that with a ravening infected that's creating more infected every minute....EEEK!
