This memorial day when you go to the range, whether you shoot NMA,1851,1860, flintlock or modern firearms think about this. Think of all the soldiers who have fought for our freedom, through the different wars and conflicts. Who picked up a weapon, not to shoot targets. But in service of our country. Many laying down their lives in the process.
To all that served and still do, I thank you. For your service and the ultimate price so many paid.
I honor them every day, flying a flag on my front porch 365 days a year. IMHO, we all should do that. Not just a couple of holidays every year. They deserve more than that. No matter if they served during peace or war, they were/are serving to defend ALL OF US.
Not saying do away with memorial day, but that it shouldn't be the only day they are remembered.
Just my two cents.

I served in the Air Force back in 66 to 69. First at Travis AFB in Ca, then at CCKAFB in Taiwan. We flew C-130E's in support of the guys in Naum. I had it a lot easier than the guys over there. You don't really know how good we have it here in the USA until you're overseas for a bit. When I got back I kissed the ground. Thanks to all vets, past and present. .
