Just what is the *expected* WCC844 load for 55-gr FMJBTs?

Title says it all. I've searched the archives and Googled it and looked at the most promising hits.

Found recommendations for 26.1 up to 28.5 (claimed to be a quote from an Army ammo specs manual). The jug I have lists 26.1 as being for the M855 63-grain bullet, with that LOOONNNG bearing surface.

As long as accuracy is okay and pressure signs are good, my GI spec velocity from a 20-inch AR is 3200 fps at 10 feet instrument midpoint, right?

Google the following: "TM 43-0001-27".
That will give you the army tech manual that you seek.
It has load data for everything from .45 ACP up to ammo for the 30mm M230 cannon.

FWIW you're supposed to be able to use H335 loading data for that powder.

Well, it was about 70 degrees and the chrono was 10 feet to the midpoint, 28.4 (couldn't get the measure to quite hit 28.5) gave me 3,230.something fps, so the batch I got matches the expected data.

Interestingly enough, the 26.1 load recommended for the 63-gr M855s gave me almost exactly 2800 fps.

Accuracy on all was as expected--3 inches, 5 rounds, 100 yards with those cheap bulk Winchester 55-gr FMJBTs.

Find an old Speer #10 manual. The Mini 14 was the test rifle. I use 748 and the data was maximum for the 55 grain bullet. Byron
