Currently the FCC has rules (horror! the Federal gummit making ROOOOLS!) that limit the ownership of various media outlets. For example, folks who own a TV channel can't own a newspaper that serves the same market. The idea is that it is dangerous to have too much control of the media concentrated in too few hands.

Duh.

The FCC and Congress is under pressure to trash that rule. Big Media wants ALL of it, and if we don't pay attention and make our voices heard, they'll get it.

Not too many decades ago, there were no ownership restrictions in the same market.

The present regs were supposed to "cure" that.

Now some want to "cure" the "cure."

Guess something was overlooked by the past regulatory geniuses.
