I just won on gun broker a Navy Arms Reb 60 revolver. .44 caliber, Uberti made. Included is a photo. Looks like a 1851 navy. Here is my question there are no internal parts the parts kit from cabela say its for a Pietta but well these parts work in a Uberti?

BBGUN ..don`t know if you`ve bought many parts for these guns before ..But there is no such thing as a drop in fit part for any of these Itilian guns ..I`ve swapped the parts on alot of Remington 1858`s from different make ..I`m not sure about the Colts ..

BBG - odds are most, if not all, will fit and work fine. However, it's also likely one or two will require a little "fine tuning" with a stone or fine file. However, no big issues should appear.

And if one doesn't work, genuine parts are available from VTI and DGW for little money.

Enjoy!

Looks like the receiver is brass, I would suspect that it is a Pietta and not an Uberti. I don't think Uberti makes brass framed guns (I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure they don't sell them under the Uberti name).

I have that same gun from Cabela's (the el-cheapo brass .44 "Confederate navy") and it shoots very, very well with reduced loads (18 grains FFFg 777 and cornmeal filler). Balances and points like a dream.

Sounds like a good project, you'll have to file/polish the cylinder hand down to fit, but that's no big deal.

Thanks for all the help I am gonna wait until VTI gets back from the shot show and then I am gonna order all the screws. All I got was the frame cylinder barrel and grip frame everything else is not there. But hey I only paid $55 for the parts I just listed. With a little luck and a lot of patients I may have another nice gun.

Howdy Folks,
Our love affair with Italian black powder replica revolvers started in the mid 50’s when Val Forgett Sr. went to Aldo Uberti and talked him into leaving Beretta and making copies of Colt black powder revolvers for him. Thus the company of Uberti was founded to supply the revolvers to Navy Arms. Uberti has made many brass framed models with their logo and name on them. The one bigbadgun bought was from Val Forgett III. He is cleaning out the Navy Arms warehouse of parts pieces. If you need any pieces for old guns or modern reproductions, you should watch his auctions.
