I have only bid once there and I keep getting their catalogs but they always have what I want to bid on combined with 2 or 3 items that I don't want.
Were these individual lots or combined?

Crawdad1 - They are indeed 2nd Gens
Ephraim - They were individual lots. I've bid on - and won some - lots that have 4 or more items when I've only wanted to keep one or maybe two of the items in the lot. I've so far managed to sell those extra items for at or above what the entire lot cost.

I'm just lovin some 2nd generation and 3rd generation Colts. Rescued a '51 Navy from my buddy a few months ago, he has already destroyed his ROA so I didn't want that to happen to that Colt.
I also have a 3rd Generation Colt, a 49 Pocket that's built like a rock but is just too darn pretty to shoot. So it sits in a glass presentation case. But, the trouble is I'm always having to wipe my friends' fingerprints off of it as they always want to handle it.
"Oh, that's a Colt, let me see"

Remarkably beautiful acquisitions. If they were mine, I would spend a week at least just looking at them and fondling them. I would get seriously behind in my tv watching!! Congratulations!!

Three truly awesome Colt revolvers! I would have a very tough time trying to choose just one of those, though if I could have just one I would have to say I'm very taken by the Pocket Navy! Thanks for sharing them with us.

The pocket Navy is my favorite too. Between the gold plating and the extensive engraving, (even the nipple wrench/screwdriver is engraved with a gold band), it is by far the best looking of the 3.

I haven't found it in writing; but a good friend got hit with a new procedure on the last Internet Only auction. Seems IL now considers reproduction percussion revolvers as modern needing FFL transfer

An FFL transfer was required by Simpson Ltd (Galesburg, IL) when I bought my ASM 2nd Model Dragoon back in the Spring.

Because Rock Island Auctions, and Simpson Ltd are in Illinois and they passed some more anti gun legislation there

Ephraim, how did that work out buying from Simpson? I assume your state did not require an FFL and Simpson did require one?

I spoke to a very knowledgeable salesperson at Simpson's.
First I tried to knock their price down and got nowhere.
Then we debated why I had to have it shipped to an FFL holder when Ohio does not require that and he explained that in Illinois, all BP replicas must be on dealer's books as firearms and so must be shipped to an FFL so that a background check could be run and the proper papers filled out.
I gave him my credit card number for the price and the shipping.
I contacted my FFL holder/dealer/range operator/gunsmith and had him email a copy of his license and shipping address to Simpson.
Simpson called me when they shipped.
My dealer called me when the dragoon arrived.
I drove out to his shop, paid him his $20 transfer fee, filled out the federal form and he called in to make sure that I was allowed to buy a firearm.
I drove home with my dragoon.
Ohio does not have a card system like Illinois either so a buyer in Illinois would have to have the additional step of registering for their firearms card.
So on the down side, it cost me $20 extra, gas money out and back plus a bit of my time (I'm retired so I've got lots of that.)
On the up side, I got to shoot the breeze with the guys at Onling Guns, got to show off my new purchase and got to contribute to Steve's kids' "college fund" or whatever he did with my $20.
