I just bought a K&M primer pocket uniforming tool for large rifle cases. The sales person told me that it could be chucked in my cordless drill and used without the handle. Ive done this with my RCBS model with great results, is this K&M model set for the correct depth at the factory or and I going to feel this out and get used to it?

The cutter on my K&M tool for SPP measures 0.121". I thought this was "adjustable" my means of a set screw on the side of the tool but I think that is to replace the cutter. The cutter appears to cut to a fixed depth depending upon which primer pocket you are working with and which tool you have.

SAAMI specifications

Large Rifle Primer:

pocket depth (min/max): .125"/.132"

Large Pistol Primer:

pocket depth (min/max): .117"/.123"

Depth for Small Pistol Primer and Small Rifle Primer are identical to that of LPP.

I think Lee is correct. Mine cut to the proper depths so I've never loosened the setscrew.

K&M makes very good products at exceptional prices.
