I wanted one K98 Mauser for my WWII collection. I got this one off Gunbroker a few months ago. Most serial numbers match except the barrel bands. Bright shiny bore too. What do you think ???

That might be the nicest K98 (wood) I've ever seen. Was it refinished?

I was wondering the same thing. When I got mine it looked and smelled like a telephone pole. After refinishing it now looks exactly like yours.

This MOD98 came from Gunbroker two years ago.

I just did a clean and repair on a friends Russian capture. Under the multitude of varnish, grease and dirt I found a fairly nice laminated stock. I've added about six feet of carbon fiber rod to repair cracks and lamination separations. This well look nice when finished. One of few Russian captures that isn't peened to death.

I lucked up on the same thing except it's a trainer. All original KKW that shoots fantastic. And the kicker, I got it for FREE!:neener::neener::neener:
