I recently purchased a TDI waist pack for some upcoming day hikes my wife and I will be doing. Our day hikes are usually several hours on easy to moderate trails is South Texas and our beautiful Hill Country. The pack was to replace my typical OWB Kydex holster.

I bought the pack from LAPoliceGear.com.

Along with the pack, I decided to accessorize it with a new TDI knife, something I'd wanted but had yet to actually buy:

Got both on a 8% off sale and free shipping. I'm very happy with the price and quality of both products.

So I decided to take some photos and give y'all some initial impressions based on some typical gear in the pack.

Here is the pouch with the TDI knife. Inside is a Glock 19, a Buck Spitfire knife, a Streamlight Protac 2L. In the pouches are a G19 15 round mag and a G26 12 round mag.

The G19 fit fine in the pack. I can also get my G17 in there, but neither pouches will hold a G17 magazine, so I'll not likely be using the pouch for that size gun. Also, only one pouch is large enough to carry the G19 mag, not both. But the shorter pouch holds a Glock 12 round G26 mag. This means I'll most likely be packing my G26 with 12 round mags most of the time, which is my typical carry anyway. But nice to know the G19 is an option.

Below are some front and back pics with a ruler for your consideration. Not any indorsement, and I'm no KaBar employee. Just a thus far satisfied customer.

YMMV

Nice! A lot of people shy away from fanny packs because they're not "cool," but your hiking trips are a great application. That looks like a pretty organized rig, without being overly bulky or screaming "concealed handgun" (except maybe the knife handle).

I suspect most folks have little clue that the knife is actually a knife...but I typically don't carry it with me if I'm headed to crowded places.

It sure beats using a heavy belt and holster setup when temps are 90+ and I'm wearing some lightweight shorts...the primary reason for buying it.
