New poster here. Thanks for all the info in this forum. My new MK9 (with approx 600 rds through it) randomly stove-pipes spent cartridges with all types of ammo. (Probably, 5-6 per 100 rounds). Following instructions on this site, I removed slide numerous times and cleaned and lubed recoil spring assembly, barrel and underside of slide. Whether using 6 rd magazine or 7, it makes no difference. Don't believe that limp wristing is the culprit. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Has it always done this, or did it just start?

I know you cleaned it, but is there excessive carbon buildup or other debris on the slide breech face or under the extractor claw? Is the ejector (a fixed blade on the frame) damaged? Or the extractor (in the slide) damaged or unable to pivot?

What kind of ammo? Feeble ammunition may not generate enough recoil to fully propel the slide rearward.

FTE has been fairly consistent from beginning. Was hoping that 200 + round break in would solve problem. Have used Remington 115 UMC, Fiocchi 115 FMJ as will as some Speer 127 JHP. Doesnt seem to make a difference. Extractor & ejector seem ok but I'll give it another look and cleaning. May be worth replacing recoil spring assembly (not an expensive part from Kahr). Thanks for your help.

If you call or email Kahr, they'll send you a new spring assembly. I had several issues with an MK9 a few years back that never resolved themselves, I finally gave up when it came down to replacing the magazines. I had lost all faith in the pistol. YMMV.

Did you try to load a round directly into the chamber then close the slide??
Kahr says that will kill your extractor!!
I had the same problem with my MK9 after doing that, with a steel case no less!!
The extractor had a minute chip taken off it!!
I needed a new one!!

Doesn't appear to be any damage to the extractor but it's hard to tell. I'm thinking it's more of a recoil spring problem & will contact Kahr to get them to send me a new assembly so I can rule that out.

Similar to what happened with my PM9. After a visit back to Kahr, new springs, etc, it did it less frequently but still stovepiped too much for my liking. Have you tried the fluff and buff? (If a gun requires this, IMHO, it should have been done at the factory!)

Good luck. I traded my PM9 in on a Seecamp.

Update: I received the new recoil spring assembly yesterday from Kahr. Very good customer service. Won't get a chance to test it until the weekend but it feels tighter on installation. Generally speaking, how do you know when it's time to replace the recoil spring assembly? Should I stick with the factory "captive" system or look to the Wolff guide and spring set? If I go with the Wolff, it is hard to install? Thanks for the help.
