Just bought my first polymer after 21 years of 1911's and I'm looking for input on a few things.

PLEASE ONLY REPLY IF YOU OWN/REGULARLY SHOOT A PM45. I'm looking for concrete info on how to spend my money. Not interested in re-igniting a tired Glock (or whatever) versus Kahr debate.

Thanks in advance.

1. Spring - what round count before changing recoil spring ?

2. Ammo - what loads seem best for accuracy / speed? So far I'm liking federal 185 grain personal defense (slow fire - 5 rounds 2 inches at 25 feet, rapid fire - 6 rounds in an 8 inch Shoot-N-C same distance - I'm an average to slightly above average shooter)

3. Sight Tool - know of an inexpensive sight tool? rear is off a bit to the right, probably wouldn't notice if it was post and notch only but would like to fix.

4. Grips - anyone enhace the grips at all? hougue wrap or sand decals in particular?

I put a similar post as a reply on a different thread earlier and deleted. sorry for duplicate if you read it there.

You may want to post this in the Kahr forum on GlockTalk...Lots of Kahr-o-holics there...

So you just bought a polymer gun, but you are going to buy a PM45? I am just a little confused on what it is you are asking.

Spring: I have not shot mine enough to even think about changing the recoil spring, so I am not much help there.

Ammo: I shoot dirty cheap Wolff out of mine, but keep it stoked with Corbon Pow'r Ball for my defensive load.

Sight Tool: No, don't know of an inexpensive sight tool. I got the Meprolight Tritiums on mine.

Grips: I don't feel as though I personally need to enhance the grips.

Sorry I am not much help for you. I personally don't feel the need to make any changes on mine yet.

Ok, I just saw your post on the other thread. So you bought a Kahr, and are now thinking of getting the PM45. Nice move in my opinion. Which Kahr did you get?

ridgreen: site tool

I finally broke down and bought the P500 universal sight tool from brownells $130.00 super tool, works on everything. Just got tired of trying to hammer over the good sites on these good guns and ending up with a messed up site. Worth the money IMO. I should have doneit years ago. Those kahrs sites are real buggers to move with a punch, this tool just slides them whereever you want.

brownells.com part #694-000-001aa if that helps any. you will love ur kahrs...super handguns..
