I got to shoot my new Kahr PM9 for the first time today. First off this gun is darn accurate. My first shot ever with the gun was dead center on the X from 21 feet. Great start! The accuracy is really astounding considering the size of the gun. As long as I did my part it was dead on. The trigger is long but smooth the whole way. I wish the trigger pull was a little shorter at the range but I think it's not a bad thing for SD. The recoil on this gun is not bad at all. Frankly I was expecting more after I've heard people on here talk about how snappy it is. I didn't find it bad at all. After 250ish rounds I didn't feel fatigued by it. There were also no pinch points and there was no discomfort at all through the whole time (except for a bit of a raw thumb from loading mags). I could have been good for another few hundred rounds. I thought that I would not want to shoot this gun that much at the range but I don't think that's going to be the case at all.

I experienced two failures to feed in the first 75 rounds. Both were 147gr Gold Dots. After that it was smooth sailing. After those initial failures to feed I fed it all of the following with no more problems: Win. White Box, Blazer Brass, a few regular Blazer aluminum, Remington Subsonic JHP 147gr, Winchester Ranger T 147gr (RA9T), Rem. Golden Saber 147gr and then some more Gold Dot 147gr.

I'm loving this pistol and so far I'm very happy that I chose it as my new carry piece. Now I need to save up for a nice new holster. I picked up a cheapo pocket holster and very cheap IWB/OWB just to hold me until I get a good one and the cheapo IWB/OWB is horrible. I was carrying my XD in a CTAC and a Don Hume IWB.

I'm sure that Jocko will be happy to read my report!

Nice post. I've been thinking of picking one of these up for summer IWB carry. Question; you said your two FTF's were long 147 grain gold dots, but then in the next sentence you said it fed the 147 grain gold dots fine. Could you clarify this... Were the first two reloads or something?

Edit: I guess you only said it was one of the rounds you fed through it. Are the gold dots longer in general or were those two rounds bad?

Also does anyone know of any smiths that will radius the sharp edges of a PM9 slide and slide release lever?

I said that the two misfeeds were in the first 75 rounds and then after that it was smooth sailing. I then listed all the ammo that it fed without problem for the rest of the session. After I fired the rest of that box of 50 Gold dots I switched ammo but then I cam back and fired a bunch more gold dots later. Same ammo.

I guess calling the round "long" doesn't really make sense...it's not really longer than any other 9mm round but it's kind of how I view 147gr I guess because the bullet seems longer to me due to the longer are with no rounding on the end as compared to your standard Winchester White Box that is more tapered. So I guess my adjective should really address the shape of the end of the bullet rather than the length, which is just confusing. Sorry!

I have edited the wording in that paragraph for clarity.

I am happy but not suprised. Personally I would have never broke in a new gun with 147 grain hp ammo. But you did and it worked fine.

The trigger pull on your kahr is only 3/8" . that is not long when you think about it being the only safety on your kahr. Nice report, now just shoot it like you stole it. When you get to 18.000 rounds, call me!!!! They will do that you know
