Ive been looking at these for quite awhile and had the chance to shoot one today. Very nice groups for such a shorty actually not bad for any length. I was disapointed though that I experienced 2 misfires. I was shooting reloads but I do not believe the ammo was the problem the firing pin hit the primer both times but did not hit it hard enough to fire.

1. What are the thoughts on this model?

2. For those that have shot them before have you had this problem?

3. If you do have one how do you carry it?
 
1. Don't test the quality of a gun by shooting crap ammo.

2. If the gun was a range rental, you should take into consideration that the gun is going to be both filthy and abused, so judge accordingly.
 
I just bought a used PM9 today at a local gun show for short money. Short I guess for what they go for around here. Anyway, I went straight to the range with it and ran 100 rnds of Winchester White Box through it without one hitch. I agree with you on the accuracy as I was grouping very well from 15 feet away. I bought it to be my daily carry piece. Before I bought this today, my primary carry was a S&W 642. The PM9 is smaller, lighter, has a higher capacity and has night sites. Like my 642 I will pocket carry it. I put it into my front jeans pocket and the thing just disapeared. I think I'm really going to like this semiauto.

I've got a PM9 that I carry in my pocket. It took a while to get it to 100% reliability but is a really good carry gun and shooter now. Keep it clean, lubed, and ready to go. I've also got a 642 that I like to carry in my jeans pockets because it draws so much quicker than the Kahr.

Clean and Lubed is the key to the little kahrs imho. Thiese little suckers like to run " wet " ( a lot more lube than you would think ) . My pm9 has been flawless with good ammo but then even if i dont shoot it i stripp it once a week and clean out the pocket lint ect.. then relube . i attached you a graphic showing where you will need to lube

I've never had a failure to fire in my PM9. Before the 200 round break-in was over I had some failures to go in battery, which I believe is not unexpected. My feelings are similar to Rockrivr1's, this is a great little gun for accuracy and concealability.

I carry a PM40. Have had a few hiccups though. First was not returning to full battery and second was slide locking open after every shot. On both occassions I emailed Kahr. 1st they sent me a new spring. Said they had a problem with a few. 2nd they sent me 2 new slide stop springs and 2 new mag followers. Haven't had a problem since. Carry as a BUG or primary pocket.
 
10 Lube points!!

The glock only has 5 for range stripping...you could easily reduce to the same I think...one drop down each slide rail. one on the barrel, one on the link, and maybe one down the rear of the slide...into the works...thats it
 
good posts so far my Brother is the owner of the gun and told me then that he had been carrying it awhile and that it was probably dry. Sounds like that was probably the problem.

By the way the reloads where from a Sammi approved loader so they where not total junk. Ive shot 1000's of the same loads through my sig and have not had a single miss fire.

I own a PM9 and like it very much. I agree with the comments about keeping it lubed. The only thing I don't care for is the take down. Sometimes I get the slide pin to come out easily, other times it's a bitch!! Sig has the best take down in my opinion.
With regard to carry, I have a c-rusty sherrick "extreme high ride" horsehide holster for belt carry. Excellent for concealment. I also have a Fist molded palstic inside the waist holster that is extremely thin. This is also a very good choice.

Looks like all the PM9 naysayers have given up!? I guess nobody likes bad news! While I have not had the PM9 jam during firing, I have had it lock up severely while trying to chamber the first round - twice. The second time was after Kahr had replaced the magazine. Just by looking at the problem, I would say it was rim-lock. You can readily see this by putting all 6 rounds in the mag and seeing how the top round "jaws up" relative to the round underneath. You can even see this with 5 rounds in the mag. The only remedy I see, is to always have a round in the chamber, so you don't have to try to chamber that first round and risk the rim lock in an emergency.

Thumbs up from here. Great little gun. Easier to hide than my Sig P239. Not one hiccup at all. Ever. I do oil all my firearms really good. I can tear the center out of a sighting target at 7 yards...and I am not the worlds best shot. The only thing is I took some practice to get used to the DAO trigger. It's not quite as easy to double tap as my Colt 1911, but I think I just need more range time.

I give the PM9 A++.
 
Never had a misfire in somewhere close to 1000 rounds. Only issue I had was pre-mature slide lock which was fixed by returning to Kahr. I don't keep mine all tha "wet" as I carry it a lot. As far as carry method I mostly carry IWB in a Sparks VM-II. It basically disappears. In the summer I will occassionally pocket carry but it's not my favoriet method. It is pocketable though with the right kind of pants.

One thing I find odd is that it won't go into battery with the "slingshot" method. As long as I release the slide with the slide stop, no issues.
