Are these full sized pistols? they look really nice. all steel, w/ wood grips. anyone have one of these nice pistols. They are beautiful handguns.

The T9 is the full-size. Check http://www.kahr.com/front.html for details. Of the three Kahrs that I owned (at the same time), I liked this one the best. Aesthetics no doubt had something to do with that, but it was also totally reliable unlike the Kahr polymer framed models, which were jammatics that tended to spontaneously self-destruct on the firing line. The T9 was VERY accurate and soft shooting. I had one of the first released in the series and to this day I regret that I sold it. I am not a huge fan of the Kahr trigger, but I think I could get used to it. The best thing about the T9 was that it fit 1911 leather very well.

Here's a product development idea for Kahr:

The Kahr 2011: Similar to but larger than the T9 and T40 series, the Kahr 2011 is a full-size, all steel combat pistol chambered for the .45 acp cartridge. It features the Kahr trigger and ignition system but has a 4.25" barrel and accepts 1911 Government Model Magazines and grip panels. It's the Un-1911 for those who want the aesthetic appeal of steel and wood and magazine compatibility with a time-honored 1911 platform but pefer a DAo, striker-fired weapon without a manual safety.

Just a thought. ;)

Dominic,

You called the T9 VERY accurate. can you quantify that? Would it be suitable for say Bullseye (informal that is).
Just wondering since it is kind of implied to be the "target" version.

Hello,

You may see a version of this on the Glock Talk Kahr sight

Just so happend to have picked up a slightly used T9 today with adjustable sights. Great gun. Way more accurate than I am at 10 and 15 yards. The recoil and muzzle flip are slight, secondary to it's weight. The 4" barrel provides a good sight radius. I call it a little big gun. It would be easy to carry all day and is not heavy. Love the trigger, smooth as silk. With no way to stage it will take a little getting use to by me. I put 150 reloads through it today with no problems. It is an accurate quality gun. A little practise and I could be a damn good shot with it, Its that kind of gun that can make you look good at the range .
My only complaint are the mags. I had a hell of a time getting 8 rounds into the mags. My thumb will be sore for a week.

Of course thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Re: very accurate? accurate enough for bullseye competition? I don't know. I shoot bullseye in an informal groups once a week. We all shoot .22s. I wouldn't think that the Kahr's LONG double-action trigger pull with long reset would make it very popular with hardcore bullseye shooters, but my guess is that it certainly has the mechanical accuracy necessary for indoor bullseye shooting. My claim to accuracy was based on the fact that I shot as well with it at 25 yards as I did with my friends 1911 match gun from a rest.

Re: self destruction. I think that the problems that I experienced with my kahr polymer frames have been done to death here on THR and elsewhere. The trigger pins walked out of both my P40 and PM9 (even after the P40 was sent back to the factory, twice) and the rails of both guns warped. IMHO, the T9 was built like a swiss watch and imho the plastic frame of the P series has serious problems. I believe that Kahr has gotten these bugs worked out though. YMMV.

Target version = factory adjustable sights
Combat version = factory meprolight night sights

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on both on my P9. I'm still evaluating it for personal use, and was already a bit leery of the rail design/construction. So far, no problems -- well, to FTF in the first box -- but I'm only 400 rounds into it.

The problematic Poly guns are not problems anymore......the rail and pin problems were the first guns made..........they have fick'd them.
Kahrs are TARGET ACCURATE guns........The T9 I shot was more accurate than my CZ's n I wasnt used to the trigger yet........
Wouldnt surprise me if it group'd 1" from a Ransom Rest at a nice distance.
They are well made guns.........my K40-9's were all one holers like my 1911's were.
Be careful using leather not designed for a Kahr.............Shoot well.

I'd be interested in seeing anyone compete in an informal bullseye match with a Kahr of any stripe.

They're nice guns, I liked my K9, but it was a CCW piece-that trigger is not going to accomplish much in slow, aimed fire. IMHO, of course.
