Meaning no offense to the original poster of the super funny Kalashnikitty. I was messing around today with Photoshop and I came up with a AKKitty using a real AK instead of the cartoonish one. Tell me what you guys think.

The entire graphic's "funny" factor came from the image of a cute kitty with a cute little AK-47. The cartoon AK fits much better into the image.

the reason

The reason that I made it was I am having a shirt made for a toy run that I am riding in this weekend and I thought it would make a few of the people that I am riding with laugh. I was looking at making a black background and then putting it on a black t-shirt. Then I thought it might be cool with a real AK just to ad alittle something extra. I would by all means have ordered a t-shirt from the designer but this ride came up pretty fast and I can have this shirt in about 20 minutes.

missing paw replaced

Thanks for pointing it out before I had the shirt made

Since the whole idea is based upon the cartoon "Hello Kitty" character, you kinda gotta keep the cartoon gun for continuity. And it just doesn't "look" right with the real thing.

But good effort. I've thought of doing dome "Molon Labe" shirts with my dog (110 lb German Shepherd) laying with his paws across an AK, and looking right at the camera.

I'd say that the only downside of the current Kalashnakitty is that it's not available in the "women's cut"/"babydoll" sizes.

I seriously think it would look and sell better if it did.

When we made club T-shirts for the UT Rifle and Pistol Club, we had a full 1/3 of them made in the women's cut, and they are selling far faster than our standard cut.

Just last night we sold 3 in the women's cut to three foreign-exchange students (French, Austrian, and Brit, IIRC) who had never shot before, and were very excited to buy shirts to commemorate the experience.

I am having the shirt made

I am having the shirt made at a local t-shirt place that does transfers and silkscreening stuff. I am just having a transfer made this time and if you do a traditional silkscreen I think you would be better off with the cartoon gun.

That's the truth. My wife doesn't even like guns and she wanted a Kalashnakitty shirt. She was disappointed when there wasn't a woman's cut shirt and decided against getting one.

Yeah, like the stylized AK better, fits in with the rest of the artwork. How about an Kalashnikitty coffee mug? That would be great.

Now it just looks like someone photoshopped an AK into a Hello Kitty design whereas before it looked like an actual Hello Kitty design with an AK.
