We need to have a shoot somewhere around KC this fall. We have a member (mordechaianiliewicz) who needs some range time. Unfortunately, I don't know where to do this. I don't know the ranges around KC.

I'd be willing to do the planning and such if I can get some help with the location.

Anybody have any ideas?

I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and would recomend "The Bullet Hole". It was an outstanding indoor range 25 years ago and I would only imagine it is better now.

+1 on the Bullethole. They have a very nice gun shop, indoor range (no centerfire rifles, though), classroom, etc. It's an all in one gun-friendly zone.

I bought my Glock there. Very knowledgeable staff. Range is top notch.

I believe their site is www.thebullethole.com

Centerfire Indoor Range in Claycomo is an Indoor Pistol Range.
Parma Woods shooting range in Parkville is an MODC run outdoor range for pistols and rifles.

The Pigeon Hill Conservation area is about 8 miles south of St. Joseph. Outdoor unmanaged state range with 25, 50 and 100 yard ranges. About an hour North on I-29 then take the Fawcett exit. We just had a Pat Rogers carbine operator's class there earlier this month.

Parma Woods is a Conservation range in Parkville. Range is managed by Conservation Dept personel.

Lake City is a Conservation range outside the Lake City Ammo Plant in Independence, also managed by Conservation Dept personel.

I would like to come and shoot my handgun with you guys, but if you do a rifle shoot before my FAL gets built, I will be a sad sad panda!

I shoot at Pigeon Hill regularly... works out well for me.

I've had problems with 'range nazi' attitudes at both Parma woods and Lake City, so I rarely shoot at either. The indoor range at 291 and Truman road (can't recall the name??) seems pretty nice, but I've never shot there. I shoot at the indoor range in Claycomo once in a while, it's fine for an indoor pistol only range.

Total Range in St. Joe is a _very_ nice indoor range (http://totalrange.com/), they allow pistol and some rifle calibers, and offer a good selection of training classes.

I've been to both Parma Woods and The Bullet Hole. Last time I was at Parma Woods, I watched some guy get kicked out on his first safety violation, they're strict but rightly so. The Bullet Hole is a friendly place, requires membership fee though, nice area, I believe they still rent firearms for range use.

Is there still a plan to get together? I was unable to attend the 1 SEP shoot. I am a little gun poor out here but could bring an AR.

I live over in Columbia but keep me posted, I would be interested in attending a KC shoot.

If Jeff City is not too far for you, MissouriCarry.com is having their 3rd annual picnic, shoot and gun raffle on Saturday the 29th. John Ross (author of Unintented Consequences) will be there with his MACHINE GUNS :what: you can rent for a small ammunition charge. This is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) Missouri 2nd Amendment events in the State. Open to the public. FREE admission. Need not be present to win the raffle but to get tickets online you need to hurry.

Will see you there!

I shot my pistol @ show me shooters in claycomo because its close.

I go to pegeuin hill once in a great while to shot...I stay in the LEO part so as not to be bothered by kiddies.

I will be at the Carry Picnic. The United Sportsmens Club will be hosting some pistol shooting as well. I'm pretty sure the Texas Star will be out.

:D
