DorGunR, oddly enough there are two towns called St Mary's in Kansas. The one west of Topeka is about 55 miles from Lawrence. The St Mary's west of Wichita is about 180 miles away. What kind of business does your son have?

It's in reference to getting in the line of soldiers going to battle and not in pulling around heavy things with a rope. Lots of cliche's like it have been mutated over the years.
I can't count how often I here "I could care less." instead of "I couldn't care less." Opposite meaning, but used interchangably.
