I am looking for a scope for an AR, the guy at the gun shop showed me a Kaspa Tactical. I was looking for a Nikon P-223 but this scope has some nice features and looked pretty good. Anyone have any experience with them. Any recommendations?
I want a reliable scope with a 223 reticle. Target turrents and side focus would be nice. Was going to put a Redfield 2-7 on it but another rifle needed that. I want some decent magnification too. I do have a Leupold tactical on my long range AR but this is a Carbine so I get by a little cheaper I am thinking. So is the Kaspa reliable ? Or should I go Nikon or is there another one I should look at?
He showed me a True Glow but I am leery of that brand.

No one have experience with them? I guess to good to be true is too good to be true. I will keep looking.

Wait ! Give a fellar a chance! I have the 1-4x or whatever it is and so does my son on our "low cost " AR carbine builds we did with Palmetto and BCM blem parts with a $60 dollar trigger up grade. These Weaver guaranteed Scopes are pretty dang good. Almost as good as a Burris or Vortex low end similar product which costs another $100-150 more. Then you got the very good Weaver warrantee which neither of us used yet. Out of our carbines we get repeatable excellent groups at all powers and like I said for optical quality and illumination which for a less than $450 scope is excellent. It just seems rugged and therefore is a little heavy than say a Leupold VXR for $500. I have $2000 scopes FWIW and quite a few 1K+$ ones so I know. You can't go wrong with it IMHO and it is best mounted in a Burris PEPR on a flat top.

BTW Gordon where is the Kaspa scope by Weaver made? I've got a couple of the older Weavers a K-4 and a 3X9, and never had a problem with them. Not to tread on your post, however I'm looking to get a high power scope for my grandson's .223 Remington 788, and his funds are limited to say the least.

I really like Japanese made Weavers.
I've never looked at a Kaspa. I think they're made in China.

From what I have read, the Kaspa's are made in China, the 40/44 in the Phillipines, and the Classics and Super Slams and others made in Japan. However I have also heard that production may have been moved to cheaper companies for some models. Hard to keep up with scope brands and changing model quality. Natchez SS has some models on sale really cheap but I am afraid of buying something that may not be reliable. I am confused as to what quality some stuff is.
Thanks for the endorsement. That helps.

they are indeed made in China in a plant supervised by weaver. They performed like I reported in the two samples I have used since 2013

I haven't used one in the field but have seen and sighted down more than a few so I can't comment on their durability, but the glass is great for the price point. Seems our customers are overall happy with their Kaspas as well fromt he feedback on multiple models.
