I've been having trouble while drawing with my belt, pistol, pants all sliding up when drawing. I realize that my holster isn't all the way broken in, and that will help....I'm using a good stiff tight gunbelt as well. I don't have too much of a gut to speak of, I understand this will help, and I'm working on it :) My hips are wide and my stomach is thinner above them...so it doesn't take much for me to pully my pants/belt/holster all up when I attempt to draw.

Anyone have any tips? Anything to help smooth out the inside of my holster....I've heard that silicon is bad, are there any alternatives?

Thanks!

It is football season. Beer, chips, long afternoons sitting around clicking between games. Then Thanksgiving with multiple huge meals, followed by Christmas with more food and New Years with more drink. Then, several months of freezing wind and ice so you can not go outdoors.

I predict that by April, your gut will be big enough to hold back the belt when you draw.

But you will need to truly dedicate yourself for maximum results.

For leather holsters that are really tight you can use a zip lock bag, or one of those blue heavier bags that handguns are shipped in. Place the gun (unloaded) in the bag and then push it all the way into the holster. If you use a thicker bag you may have to trim it around the shape of your gun so it doesn't bunch up. Leave it sit for anywhere from a couple hours to overnight to loosen the holster up a bit. This was recommended to me by an employee of a reputable holster maker (Milt Sparks).

As far as products Galco makes something called DRAW-EZ that you apply sparingly inside the holster. I have used this as well and it does seem to help however the above process usually is all that I find necessary.

Hope that helps, YMMV.
