Anyone know whats up with Kel-Tec? I have had a SU-2000 on order for over six weeks and my dealer can't get a hold of one? I thought the backlogs were clearing up?
I think KT is up to it's eyebrows trying to keep up with pocket pistol and SU-16 back-orders from the Obama scare, as well as the RFB they introduced & took orders for a year and a half ago and haven't got made yet.
Kel-Tec is a tiny manufacturer. They were backlogged before the election. They can barely keep up with P32 and P3AT orders (their best sellers), much less anything else. They just don't have the capacity to expand production like Bushmaster, Ruger, S&W, etc. can. Be patient, because you're likely going to be waiting a while.
P3ATs are starting to show up around here again. I haven't seen many rifles though.
Is there any truth to the big DHS P3AT order?? If so this could have something to do with the slowness.. Obviously the P3ATs have sold like hotcake to us Civvies and Kel-Tec is no giant when it comes to production ability.
Keltec supposedly ran into a bottleneck on their long gun production regarding barrels. Again supposedly, they purchased a bunch of CNC machinery to start manufacturing their own blanks, but no telling how long it'll take to get them setup and cranking out parts. Until then, don't expect to see much from them.
A NIB SU-16A went for only $470 on one of the auction sites last week. The BUY NOW price was $499. I took that as a good sign that the panic buying is over.
at my work i cant get anything from kel tec yet. ive got multiple lcps from ruger but no p32s or pf9s yet since obama got ellected. stinks as i sold kel tecs like crazy even before obama. good company with useful good priced product
