Im tossed up between two pistols... Neither I have Fired, nor will I likely be able to befor I buy.. as theres no range at the gun shop..

Im familiar with firearms, got a TaurusPT111Milpro, CarterArms Police Undercover.38, and a lil RG23 .22 micro-snubbie for pistols..
Ive owned Glocks, Rugers, S&W, Jennings.. so Im aware of diversity when it comes to quality/use-ability, and reliability.

If you, had a choice between these two: the Kahr or KelTec, which would you choose, and WHY.?

Anything you feel would be helpfull info, Please add.

Thank you all, for youre time!

You know, I get plenty of questions awnserd with questions, in my Shao-Lin practice...

I figured it would be obvious.... SIZE.

and if you know any thing about pistols.. you'd know theres no 'one' tool for all tasks... ;)

Please, dont comment if you dont have anything to say.. I like to participate in threads that will help others AND myself.
If you have something useful, Id be more than happy to learn!

But thanks for the time you did decide to share..

I've read way too many scary things about the kahr guns on the GT forums. I'd get the keltec just based on each companies reputation.

As an added bonus its half the price, more rounds, and not much larger.

Thanks alan, Ive always read yer posts, and appreciate yer opinion!

what would be youre main reasoning for getting the Kahr?

I see they both have an overall good rep for reliability, the P11 has a bit more capacity.. do either have a mag disconnect saftey?

Ive been craving a kahr for some time.. noticed the P11 and am appreciating the opportunity of the two of them..

Thanks, ip9:)

Thanks soybomb!
I shot a friends KT P3AT bout a yr a go. I was impressed, kida why I took notice to keltec. Im just not willing to go down to .380 if I dont have to.
I remember the recoil being a bit punchy fer alil .380 tho..

Im wondering if between the P11 or the CW9, which would have less felt recoil?..

I understand the P11 will fit a Houge Handall Jr. Slip On grip, wondering if the CW9 does aswell.

Thanks folks!

I've had a P3-AT, a P-11, and a CW9... .380 had the best trigger, P-11 had too long/heavy a trigger, and the Kahr... well, it was ok, just didn't do it for me. Got rid of 'em all, and have an old Colt Government Pocketlite .380 now. Best for me.

Although, I am anxious to see the Kel-Tec PF-9 when it comes out...

Well, I got the Kahr CW9.

Ill say, so far Im impressed with the pistol overall..

NIB $425, got a spare mag fer $35 bucks.

fired one clip thru her when I got home, Win 115 FMJ WhiteBox. no hitches.. But Id hope not for them bucks.. I seen a Glock 19 for 400 next to it.. been down that road, aint goin again..

Recoil is better than my PT111 MilPro.. and the Kahr fits a JrHandall grip nicely.

any holster suggestions?

Im feeling this be a very application specific pistol as with my Taurus and Charter.

Im happy with the purchase so far.. gimme a week to work the ever-living-shi* out of her and we'll see if it can live upto its price tag.

I had a Keltec for summer carry way back when. The trigger sucks. I gave it to a buddy of mine. I bought a Kahr CW9 a few weeks ago and love it. Now I hear a ton of bad things about the kahr but I've had zero malfunctions after 600 rounds. This is my new carry gun for the summer.

I much prefer the Kel Tec to the Kahr because of the longer trigger, safer pocket carry, but I can shoot it and that's a personal thing. Also, the price is more palatable to me. Mine's been trouble free, 100% for 9 years. However, I, too, fail to see why you'd want to get rid of your Millennium for a Kahr or Kel Tec. It's about the same size, perfectly serviceable. might be a little bigger, heavier for pocket carry, not sure. I guess so if you've checked. I don't hear a lot of negatives on the gun, though, far as function goes.

The PF9 should be out very soon, was suppose to be out this month. It's a tiny bit more compact than the P11 and the trigger will be a pound or two lighter being based on the P3AT trigger. The P11's is 8.5 smooth lbs and the pull is quite long. Mine has the older 10 lb trigger spring, a little more revolver like. I haven't measured it. After 10K+ rounds through the thing, it might be an 8.5 lb trigger now. :D

I'm learning who the brand bashers are on this site. There are the nothin' but Smith and Wesson revolver guys, a subset of the S&W crowd is prelock or pinned and recessed or whatever , the nothing, but a 1911 guys, the nothin', but a Sig/HK/Glock/CZ guys. They seem to be stuck on their brand or style to the extent that they will bash all else out there, irrational, I'm learning to ignore it. Many of 'em have never owned the brand, but it's junk because it's not a (fill in the blank).

I was thinking about getting a Kahr CW9, but after searching through previous threads, it seems that the people with positive feedback are 50% at best. I already have two small autos with feeding problems. Don't know if I want to chance it just yet.

The CW9 is lacking some of the quality materials used in the regular line of Kahr pistols.:uhoh:

It does not have polygonal rifling like the regular line of Kahr pistols either!:uhoh:

I have a K9 that is one of the early Kahr pistols and IMO it is one of the best pistols I own, but since cost cutting measures are used in the CW9, I personally would not want one.

With that said, I would highly recommend any of the regular line of Kahrs.:)

I have my P11 since '97 and I never have any sort of functioning problem with it. Its trigger pull is heavy, but still manageable. I know its intended to be an in your face kinda gun, so that doesn't bother me.
I recommend it if you're on a budget and wanting a hicap capable concealment gun.
