I don't even understand how you can seriously ask this question. Of course I would be more upset about them bringing a loaded handgun, or for that matter an unloaded handgun.
I'm not anti-gun person by any extent, but you know... There's this problem amongst marijuana proponets. They tend to be so vehement in defending the drug because it is relatively harmless, that they forget the "relatively" and just assume it is totally, 100% harmless and that is a fallacy.
Now, I can see how a person would assume that a child with a loaded handgun is not in itself dangerous. There's a lot of youth shooters out there that have been taught well. So the gun and the child having it are not inherently dangerous. I think the more people start to think, "Guns aren't dangerous if you're safe about them," the more they're deluding themselves that guns are harmless just like the marijuana proponets. So if at any point anyone suggested to me that it would be okay to let a child go to school with a loaded gun, I would know they are just as permafried as the idiots who think pot is a 100% innocuous cure all.
Just to really beat it out here.... Let's assume your child is trained to safely handle a loaded firearm, knows all the safety rules, blah blah Now, if you think that makes it safe for them to bring a firearm to school, let's look at it this way...
- What about the other kids? Will they safely handle it or pull the trigger and blow someone away?
- What about teachers who see a child with a handgun? I mean, what age are we talking here? Who is to say that in this day in age with school shootings in our past, that a teacher wouldn't see him as a threat and take some kind of action?
I mean, you can make a reasonable argument to say that firearms are safe if you handle them correctly... Well, stashed inside of a bag, at a place that clearly prohibits firearms, is not handling it safely.
I really don't even see how these two things relate to each other. What's the point of this question?
