I just read this from the online paper...

Rogers police arrested three teenagers on suspicion of attempting to rob an off-duty officer.

Officials said the officer was walking his dog last month when he was struck by a truck, and the driver took off. Police said they believe the driver and two other teens intended to graze the officer with the truck and then rob him.

Police said the teens left after they hit and badly injured the officer. Those suspects face attempted aggravated robbery charges.

They just got a statement from him cause he was in the hospital. It's only about 9 blocks from me!

that's just sad....really really sad....I guess the whole teaching your kids morals concept is long gone.....

I am confused

How did the police come to the conclusion that the punks were gonna rob him? Yes the kids should have stopped. Yes they deserve whatever the law allows for a H&R. But this could just be dumb-kid-driving they realized they hit someone and got scared. No it does not justify their actions in anyway. I live in a community where the local sherrifs agency is corrupt. And have seen stuff like this before. I would like to hear the other side as well.

Well they found the truck and the person driving and when they took him to jail that's when he told the police the other teens names and all of them had the same story.

They were out to rob him by hitting him with the door but actually hit him. They didn't know that he was an off-duty police officer.

Yep. Been gone since the dawn of mankind, by that judgement...

Hitting him with the door? Your pooping me!

Arkie, AR has been getting worse over the years. A friend of mine living in Little Rock a few years ago was nearly hit head on by four people on ecstasy, who then fled the scene until one of the axles fell off the bottom of the car. When it screeched to a halt in front of an off duty officer's home, officer came out to see if he could help, and the four of them jumped him. This was all in a section of Little Rock that wasn't a bad neighborhood.

There's more of a drug culture there now than I remember from when I was younger. I used to think I wanted to go back, but it's becoming less and less appealing as time goes by.

Hey Arkie, nice to meet you. I'm in Springdale :).

Drugs are pretty bad here, I work at Walgreens, and in the pharmacy we get like 2 dozen people per ay buying syringes. When they come in still twitchy from their last hit, you've got a PRETTY GOOD idea that its not for insulin :)

Moral whats-it? Sorry, was too busy having my educators teaching me that we all came from monkeys. Oh well, I am sure this moral relativism they teach is the same thing, right?

Wow, guess they probably wouldn't face the near-death beating I'd receive if and when I ever returned home when I was a teen!

Too many people think that morals are drawings on walls, and scuples is money in Russia. No sense of honor left in most of the world. For shame.
